I love car buyers. Always get it checked out, even if you know something about cars. Some of the excuses people coming in with is unbelievable.

I notice that anytime someone goes low and gets personal, they are usually desperate and they lose the case.

So he had a car for sale for 6k you negotiated $4,350 plus him replacing the windshield... Plaintiff sues defendant for 10K. For a used car that she knew had transmission issues in the cylenoids needed replaced.So you Con artist lady just say you thought you could finesse him out the car on top of an extra $5,650.

If she knew it already had some problems when she bought it, she should have expected more after she bought it. It was a used car and not a new Ferrari.

I'm a painter now, but in my late twenties, a few friends and I were buying and selling cars(sometimes auction, sometimes we bought off of Craigslist/offer up, sometimes guys in the car business would have us sell theirs on consignment) . It absolutely blows my mind how most people don't get it checked out! One time I sold a 2002 BMW 3 series wagon, I stated in the ad that it could over heat, our mechanic said it needed a thermostat and a radiator, and that it should be towed or only driven less than ten miles until problems were fixed, all in the ad. The first guy to contact me showed 2 hours after agreed meeting time, almost made me late to work. He shows up, drove it one block! I asked if he wanted to go to a mechanic to confirm it only needed radiator and thermostat, he said no! I posted it for $1100, we agreed on $900(I'm a firm believer that any car that still runs in California is worth about $1000). He pays me then leaves, I barely made it to my cook job barely on time, then in the middle of dinner rush he blows up my phone! I check my v mail on my break and dude threatens to kill me. Some people man!

Always spend the money for an emission test to see if the codes have recently been reset. She should have done that before taking it to the shop. If it had a check engine light on when she bought it and he said it was only the solenoid, then he did defraud her.
