This week started with the celebration of Jeremy, Nevaeh, and Kirra's birthdays, and sadly ended with a Covid 19 Delta Variant diagnosis. Most of the family is sick, but I am doing what I can on the home build while also taking care of the homestead, and the family as they recover.

Not finished watching; haven't read comments. Wanted to IMMEDIATELY say: if this is Covid, BUY a pulse oximeter immediately if you do not have one. Between 20 and 40 bucks, will measure oxygen saturation. Anything above 95% is great. Under 95%, talk by phone to a doc or nurse. Under 90%, get whoever it is to the emergency room. Despite many who say otherwise, this CAN get very serious. Best of wishes and prayers for you and your family. ❤❤❤

Sandra Westley from the UK yes a friend of ours was on the phone to the Doc he already new he had COVID-19 as he’d had the test, and the doc just sent antibiotics, but a friend who rang him, he happened to mention his oxygen levels were down to 83 immediately they called the ambulance but he didn’t make, so just keep checking.

100% agree! Easy to get through Amazon, and will give you and your family some peace of mind. Also watch for respirations >30 per minute. Prayers for your family, and your Mom & Dad. I don't know why people don't wear masks. Such a simple thing that can save your life. Get the shot. Please.

Stay strong and positive. You will get through this. I am 74 and had covid last November. It was a very mild case and I like to think it was because of my health regime of taking daily zinc, Vitamin D and Vitamin C. I have seen many doctors say that these three can greatly soften the blow of covid. After a week of general flu symptoms it started to get better. But this was followed by a general weakness/tiredness where you just feel like not doing anything except lots of resting. Hopefully your family will have mild symptoms and will start feeling better next week. Blessings to your family.

I’m 70, been on zinc, vitamin D3, eat plenty of fresh citrus and vitamin C rich plants each day and I make my own quinine with left over citrus peels. I truly believe it’s the reason I don’t get sick. I just don’t do the things (like alcohol) that reduce one’s immune system anymore either, including the negative mental mindset thing. It’s what everyone should do. I choose not to take the jab at this time since I’m diabetic and asthmatic, waiting to see the long term results of this experiment of an untested vakseen has on the world. Exercise, stay positive and eat well y’all. Praying for healing of the Souza clan.

Our family had it last Nov incl my 86 yo mother in-law. You’re all healthy and should do fine. It’s a flu, keep the inflammation down, taking zinc, Vit D and C are super important. Prayers for speedy recovery!!

Every mother is making decisions now about their families. So hard to balance decisions. I understand grandparents need to see and be part of our grandchildrens lives. My husband has cancer now and we need whatever time we have with our loved ones. Don't let others second guess you. No one knows how long any of us have. We do our best. Thank you Melissa for your positive calm approach to the family getting sick and for making this video. I Hope everyone mends quickly. We unknowingly were exposed and then came down with covid while family was visiting recently. Of course we felt SO bad and were apologetic, sadly the family members flipped out and blasted us online. (Aside from Dad working, the rest of us have been hunkered down like many others for 1 1/2 years, and the kids homeschooled) Watching your video was just what I needed to hear today. Your attitude of rolling with the set back and focusing on caring for your loved ones is refreshing. Instead of ranting, raving, and blaming, you are choosing to focus on caring for your family. You have met this challenge with utmost grace, in spite of being worried. A true test of character comes under pressure. You have inspired and encouraged me with your attitude and strength. @@sped6387 The vaccine certainly DOES prevent most cases of covid. No, it is not 100% effective but 90-95% sure beats nothing. And yes, if you do get it, it will probably be a milder case. Which to me is a lot safer than no vaccine at all. Mask are also very beneficial. Do YOU know the situation? If so, enlighten me. Vaccines have never been mentioned in their videos and their last few outings, I don't see anyone wearing a mask. I could be wrong, but...I will wait for Melissa or Jeremy to set me straight!

If you weren't wearing a mask when you ran to the grocery store make sure you call and warn them your family tested positive and which employees you came into contact with. They'll be able to quarantine those employees so it doesn't spread further. Also don't forget to warn anyone else you came into contact with between the pool and now. Even if you're not showing symptoms you could be carrying the virus also.

Please, no more trips to the store, or anywhere, until your family is fully recovered. I wouldn’t want to be the checkout clerk, or the employee who manages carts etc., for a person who has just left to do errands for a household teeming with covid. You may have it, not have any symptoms and pass it to other families.surely friends and neighbors can drop off necessities. Please be careful, speedy recovery for your family and parents. God bless. If I can give you a tips regarding reversing a trailer: Put your hand at the bottom of the steeringwheel, then move the hand the same way you want the trailer to turn. (If you want to see the trailer in your left mirror, move your hand to the left, and if you want to see the trailer in your right mirror, move your hand to the right.) Use small movement of the steeringwheel. That way you sit normally in the driver´s seat faceing forward with full control of the cars frontend, and the trailer thru the side-mirrors. And by looking at your hand on the bottom at the steeringwheel you know which way the trailer turns. ;-)

WOW this is fantastic advice. I learnt the hard way to do small movements as when I began I would go from one steering lock to the other and Jack-knife EVERY TIME! if you lift your elbow or move your hand it will certainly jack. Marvellous advice for beginner drivers!

@@bmogs1720 If you imagine the steeringwheel as a clock, (Where top is 12, and bottom is 6) then movements between 5 and 7 is perfect, at most 4 to 8. ;-)

@@hlic7941 not a big fan of vaxxed. Used to get the flu shot every year for that extremely dangerous strain and ended up with a compromised immune system and got some other flu virus. Usually short-term until the year I got the flu shot, the pneumonia shot, and my shingles booster. I was sick from that fall until just about the middle of next summer. That was the end of vacs for me. And I'm pretty sure I had covid in the fall of 2019. I'm pretty sure most of my family got it before the pandemic lockdown. But went with rules and regs. Home confinement, Masks, and Social distancing! Only left the house for the mail , the bank, and groceries. Most of all kept my damn mouth shut, and never got tested or got it again when possibly exposed. Since the Corp had everybody convinced for Febreze was a disinfectant, and took Clorox anywhere off the shelves. I had to start making my own and use that liberally whenever I wasn't gloved in public!

Prayers and best wishes for all the good simple living family. I’m a medial laboratory Technician and I can speak first hand that we have more COVID patients than the first wave. West Tennessee Healthcare filled up with COVID patients faster with the second wave. We had one floor the first round, we have two floors this round. Especially praying for your elder parents. Loved seeing the Dynamic Duo mother daughter team!! I had it in November. It was brutal-but it passed. Elderberry, Zinc and some heated blackberry brandy at night, really helped. Just be sure to NOT breathe in when taking a shot of the heated brandy! Praying for a speedy recovery for everyone.

Hope everyone heals well. I had it in March 2020 and lost 27 pounds. I am still short of breath after taking a shower and have to sit down for five minutes. Hope you guys don’t have the long-haul symptoms. After getting the vaccination my long haul symptoms have lessened.

A lot of comments here, so I don't know if anyone else has recommended this, but here's something to think about since this sounds like it's been hanging around for a while now. If you don't already have a "Pulse Oximeter," I recommend you pick one up at your local drug store. They aren't that expensive. Many people with COVID-19 have low levels of oxygen in their blood, even when they feel well. Low oxygen levels can be an early warning sign that medical care is needed. So it's better to be safe than sorry, especially since a medical facility may be a good distance away from where you are.

Praying for a quick recovery! Our whole family got covid back in January despite masking up and barely leaving our home. Luckily, none of us had severe symptoms. Just a mild fever. No coughs!

Yes, some people still get Covid despite getting vaccinated but MANY, MANY, MANY more don't so I will go with the proven science and evidence which has kept me healthy so far, despite being a nurse who has cared for Covid patients.

Praying for family. I just recently lost my mom to COVID. Like you, I fought long and hard to keep my family, especially my mother safe from this dreadful monster. I miss my mother dearly. We are preparing for her “homegoing”.

I had covid which is just like the flu with aches pains cough runny nose. Sounds like everyone is doing all they can do which is rest cuz you have no energy. I made full recovery and I believe yall will too. I will pray here in TN that your entire family recovers soon. God Bless.

Hope your family is well and on the mend. Fluids and rest and lots of it. As an ER nurse, you all have been my escape this last year. I am so sorry you're going through this. Day 7 to Day 10 really watch for resp issues. Breathing too fast. Get oximeter as others have said. I already know you have read up on it and are on it. Thoughts are with you guys. ❤

Be sure to get them on their stomach. I was in hospital with it and they put me 12 hours a day on my stomach to clear my lungs. Also high vitamin D levels really help. I found Dr. Been on you tube he gives real info daily on this.

@@onababona6101 Dear Ona, that is odd that u say that. I too had it in November 2020, was down 4 weeks. And now I fall asleep and nap just about each day. And 1 other thing, that never B4 occurred, if I go shopping in a Wal Mart or Dollar General for any length of time, I have to buy a bottle of water and open n drink some, unable to wait until I get out to my car, where I always keep water. Oh no! I’m sorry to hear that your family has the COVID variant. Praying for a speedy recovery. I got COVID back in mid January to early February this year and some of my friends and family swore by ginger lemon tea. I boiled the ginger and lemon in water and drank that every day. It seemed to help me a lot. I really hope every feels better soon!

Near the end of the video, I think your ladder should be extended an extra 3 ft above the upper landing. That rule might be different where you live though. In case your ladder slips or something, you and your ladder are going straight into that glass.

My 1st bout was like a cold, with a lot of fatigue. I built 2 monster John Deere DB-90 54 row planters from naked tool bars. Cutting, torching, welding, wiring, grinding. It came back with a vengeance 4 months later. We lost a farm worker to it, he passed away, and I was on life support for 5 days. I’m 10 feet tall and chiseled out of granite, as my wife says lol, just like Jeremy. Their was no reason for my case to be so severe. We went full positive pressure face masks with breathers and whole body suits, footies, the whole 9 yards. I’m pretty close to doing that again over the delta mutation, and going curbside only, zero contact with farm sales.

i have watched this multiple times now and my heart still wrenches when I hear the news. Oh how i wish i could take this from you and your family. To see the little ones hunkered down, and Jeremy on the couch just tore me up. Nuvea and you working together was such a joy. She is a beautiful young lady and Her Mom has brought her up well! I am praying that you do not catch the full brunt of this evil, but is was just a glancing blow and recovery , while slow will be full and complete.

There is risk in getting vaccinated and there is risk in not getting vaccinated. We chose the risk that we thought was best for us. It turns out that we were right this time. God knows I have chosen poorly at times.

My wife has severe allergies and is afraid to get vaccinated because of that but she is being treated like some kind of uncaring monster for not getting vexed. Everyone should be able to make their own risk/benefit choice based on informed consent. Unfortunately the whole COVID thing has become political and it is tearing families apart. instead of love and support there is hatred, anger and fear.
