"Staples" wasn't a resident at the parking lot encampment, but people there helped him with a place to warm up, friendship, and socks. The encampment was a save refuge for him.
This video series was created to hear the stories of people who are experiencing homelessness. The pandemic has made the homeless situation more visible than ever. Neighbourhoods everywhere are grappling with the converging crises of housing insecurity, overdose, and COVID-19. We need to come together to solve these issues. To do so, it's crucial to include the voices of the people actually experiencing LIFE OUTSIDE.
This project was made with the participation of the Canadian Red Cross, the North Park Neighbourhood Association, the Big Wheel Community Foundation, and Discovery Coffee fuelled us with coffee and doughnuts.
