Hello Shiners !
Today on the bench we have this pair of beautiful of Dan Post Cowboy boots. I don't do a lot of towel shines, what most people would associate with a street shiner. A towel shine is when you take a rag in both hands, hold it taught, and quickly buff the leather . There is no real difference between a towel buff and the traditional finger buff, just different methods. The towel buff became popular in the boom of the street shiner era. The popularity grew simply because it was easier to perform with someone wearing the shoes and having their weight hold the shoe steady. Street shiners of the day also had fun with the method and entertained their patrons by snapping the towel to a beat creating a memorable fun experience. I don't replicate that in this video mainly because I have no weight to hold the boot steady or (shine holder) but I felt like mixing it up anyways, and I loved the results.
