I feel yah man, had this same thing happen a few weeks ago. Good to see it was worked out. Their strike system is broke af.

They went for the easiest option when doing up the copyright strike by using the "logo" as a reason and RU-vid happily bent over and obliged. You can be damn sure this has happened to many other smaller youtubers with companies hoping they could easily bury criticism or damage towards their brand and nobody would notice.

Going through a copyright issue on my channel as well. 5s audio clips in 5 minute videos are claiming all the revenue from 50%+ of my videos. They're telling me that they will DMCA all my videos if I try and fight it as well. I'll take the strike and try n counter it

I hope youtube changes some stuff with their review process for these things cause I'm kinda sick of having to think forward for any possible reason that can be used to take down a video

I've been on RU-vid since 2011 (various channels). Easily 30+ claims over the years. The original appeal system had 2 Appeals. Rights holders could reject each appeal. HOWEVER it took a court order to get the video taken down. This is entirely new to me as well. I have music companies claiming content, and fighting me on fair use. RU-vid says I get a takedown & strike BEFORE my second appeal?! ALSO - the strike can cut your channel off from benefits - aka guilty & punished before innocent.

This is just my opinion. But based on video evidence that the community has access to, and that equates to thousands of hours of video-graphic proof, it seems to me that Musical.ly supports, encourages and condones inappropriate sexual conduct of minor children. Their entire platform is built off of it. They tried to silence you because you brought attention to this, and that is dangerous to them. It is dangerous to their bottom line, and is dangerous to their image. Thank you Wubby. Keep up the great work.

RU-vid doesn't read or check any copyright claims. And it works against us RU-vidrs in 2 ways. #1. Like what happened here- some idiot files a copyright claim and causes the video to be brought down and a channel strike. #2. If anyone copies your videos and you file a copyright claim then that person just has to check a freaking box saying "I dispute this claim" and RU-vid will reinstate the video and tell you that you have to pursue this in court. I have a channel that uploaded my exact video and just cut off my bumper and end screen. I filed a claim and RU-vid's reply is "sorry, we can't do anything, you'll have to sue the person".

As someone who writes and creates video essays based on movies I often get copyright notices. 99% of the time when I challenge it they get removed as my use is clearly fair use. The only time I had someone stubborn was the weinstein Corp who (like musicly) knew I couldn't go to court about it. At least they went bankrupt a few months later so some karma there

Just because they don't like what someone reveals about there channel or your opinion about their content or their overall channel is freedom of speech. now, to be fair to them and to RU-vid, there are legal matters at hand to protect all of us and we must also look at those and weighed them out independently for each situation which takes a lot of Manpower and Manpower equals money so, sometimes it's faster and better business to place it on hold until they have time to look deeper. The main problem here, is RU-vids inability to uphold "fair use" policy, rules, regulations. And if you "cave" in one case, you are bound to get a load of other claims. It is also RU-vids fault that they have let people in the past use copyright music on videos etc and not doing anything about it. The inability to have clear rules and regulations is now hurting RU-vids and costing them money. I end this comment with "Nelson" from The Simpsons saying "Ha Ha!" This copyright strike does not fall into any existing regulations through RU-vid. Logo's to an extent cannot be trademarked or copyrighted. It is just like a saying. Im so glad your video was put up and your weak strike was lifted!!! Good for you
