Carving a cowboy bust from a band saw cut-out. From the original pattern to a band saw cut-out and starting to block out the bust. Working on his hat, and head. Hope you will visit our website at stegallcarving...
Great job. I like your sculptures very much. I subscribe to your channel, I am on a pension and sculpting is my hobby but I have recently fallen ill with cancer and make my dreams come true. Your movies teach me sculptures. Greetings from Poland Adam
I just found your channel this morning and have been enjoying watching your videos. Would you please tell me the make, and size of that #11 gouge you use in this video. From what I can see it looks like an OCCT but I may be wrong. Regardless of who made it I must have one exactly like your's. Thats why I ask for the maker and size of the #11 gouge. Payton, you are doing a great job filming the videos. I hope he lets you carve also.
Absolutely, that is what I did originally, but for the tutorial I used a roughed out version. Just take the block and draw on a "pattern" cut out the excess and carve away! Keep the chips flying!
Roger Stegall Woodcarvings brilliant, because I’m new to it I like the full tutorials with the block. Going to give this a go though and try and draw the pattern on thanks Roger.
