As long as customers accept low standard fitting as normal, we will still have low standard fitters, it's nice to see your videos raising customer expectations 👍
That’s the point we’re trying to push forward. Let’s hope it works and for customers to be made aware that paying a little bit extra for quality goes a long way.
The way you do these stairs is exactly what I was trained to do, bar the spacers and the way you cut the underlay. I roll out and measure then cut along the width instead of the length :)
i cant lie, im by no means the best carpet fitter around. i work for a shop where we do up to 13 cuts a day and we're not paid the best, but even on a bad day my fitting on stairs is sooooo much better than the job done on those stairs haha
It was like watching a good series and then it finished, pissed I got to wait 24 hrs for the next episode. They where not carpet fitters just hack, slash and run merchants. .What a join sprayed to the underlay. Thanks for the great content. Stay safe & keep busy as you can in this bad time.,
💯 this fitting was done by a guy who isn't a fitter and is self taught! But there are a lot of guys out there that have no certificates or courses under there belt that do a great job. In my a opinion it,s all about having passion for your work and wanting to do a good job end of. P.s does Josh think he's in the UFC with them gloves! Pffff
Lol don’t get on the wrong side of josh. He’s been pushing them weights lately 😜😅 And yes, I totally agree. Passion drives you to deliver excellent work!
Bro please advise the previous fitters of this terrible job they've done. If they get caught doing it again name and shame them buddy. Loving your work!
15:55 hahaha Excellent video and explanation. Can tell you and your team are super respectful with your clients. And that seam (join) in the room was just pathetic.
Not relevant to this video, but do you ever staple woven wool carpet runners instead of using grippers? Mainly thin runners on upholstered stairs. I love your attention to detail..... ...and your humor. "Seventy five years later" 😁 So true.
How much did he pay the cowboy fitters? cos if he paid a cheap price then would it be reasonable to expect a first class job I don't think so I think some folk pay cheap and get what they pay for.
@@TrimTuckCarpets they won't be around long then nothing to worry about unless you are his next victim I'm sure s small claims court would sort out the customer but it's a lot of hassle.
I think they should be named and shamed. They're taking people's hard-earned money and giving a sub-standard service. Thank goodness there are still some people who wiill do a decent job. Well done Trim & Tuck.
This customer has used a firm that uses cheap underlay, cheap gripper and cheap fitters. He may of asked for a good fitter but it doesn't look like he paid for one.
What really pisses me off when I get to a place is I have to do all this sometimes, (rectifications, uplifts etc) tell my boss and get ‘got to take the rough with the smooth’ His cover all phrase
I bet it does piss you off..... that's fair enough.....I'm with you on that. BUT..... what else is he going to say?... "Don't worry, walk off that job.... we'll wait for an easier one. I'll still pay you for the day. Just tell the customer it's too much for us" To be fair to your boss.... he's probably under pressure too.... but in different ways. In an ideal scenario, these (potential) issues should be covered with the customer upfront, with an element of flexibility in the estimate, to cover the cost of any additional labour.... and then the customer can be assured of a good job.... the business assured of a fair profit.... and the fitter assured of a fair days pay (and gratitude) for his efforts. (And for what it's worth, I think the one thing fitters look for more than anything..... is the GRATITUDE).
You will probably find, he paid a low price. We come across this all the whie. If we quote, they still go back to this; as its cheap. its NOT the fitters fault; they are rubbish. Some customers ,will NOT pay for a good job. I have not seen, one of these vids, either using F1 in door ways ( even by these lads ). These are slightly better than carpet sh*te but no double banking ect.... ; but what, you would expect from a JL fitters By the way I We have seen worse and possibly even done it, ourselves over the past 35 odd years. We don't comment on DIY fitters; for some reason ? Or on this, But we have nothing but a glass of wine or two to do and bored. Pay more and you get professionals. You should be paying between £100 - £200 an hour for just a fitting only service. If you pay less; this is what you get and these PEOPLE will still pay less !!!
