No microphone. Just yelling. So somewhere from 1915 to 1935 they added ropes. Really doing a deep dive here. Also it stopped being Greco Roman & more fighting.

Only 1 pinfall attempt. It worked. Bulldog finisher. Still works today. Very modern in many ways. Looks more realistic though.

Thanks for posting the Terry McGinnis clip. I'm his grandaughter but never got to meet him, and my father (his son) is no longer alive either. It means a lot to my brother and me to have that incredible clip. Can't thank you enough! By the way, we know from geneology records that he is descended from England's King Edward IV, Isabella and Ferdinand of Spain, The Holy Roman Emperor of 932, Swedish Kings.... etc. The warrior genes are evident, what an athlete!

This is a wild and violent match. They're not going into spot for spot for spot... their flowing in a free state where you can take the match at whatever feels right. This is all a work and they're telling their storylines to get you to see the next match. Pro wrestling at its finest. 👌

Cowboy Karl Davis later became Crippler Carl Davis. He moonlighted as a stunt man. Look for him at the beginning of the 1955 cult classic, “The Creature With the Atom Brain.”

Also wrestler today is more risky that it was in 40's that is why most pro wrestler today needs to be in best shape to perform those unrealistic moves

Two absolute legends in the ring. Bronco Lubich was supposed to officiate this important match but he got hold of some bad shellfish that day at lunch and was unable to answer the bell so to speak.

This was scripted. Wrestling still had some shoots in the 30s but this one was obviously scripted. It looked way more brutal than today but that is because the sport and kayfabe was insanely protected back in the day.

Wrestling was always scripted its just back in the day the wrestlers had more control of what went on in the ring outside the finishes

Not scripted but worked. The booker tells them the finish and maybe a high spot or two, but it was up to the wrestlers to improvise the match.
