Hes not even lying he's a good coxswain pushing his crew to be the best they can be. Yeah he went over the origanal 20 he said they had left but the crew do what the cox says they shouldn't ask questions. It was kind of funny when I think 5 seat just yelled out " Stop lying" it sounded super childish
Correct me if im wrong but if you listen closely he calls the 20 to go and calls the 5 to go perfectly 15 strokes later and then continued to call the 2 to go 5 strokes later. This means he only gave them two extra strokes that aren't going to affect you. ALSO 5 seat shouldn't even of had the energy to shout out straight away if he was actually going hard enough and how does he have the time to be able to count the strokes when he should be putting the focus into his power and rowing. Just my thoughts please reply.
@@samfisher9119 I totally agree, as a rower your job is to row with all of your being and you let the coxswain do their job. You just need to trust their decision making.

I counted, it was 20 strokes, he didn't lie. Ended right after 20 strokes. He called 20 and then with 5 left, he said 5 more. Not wrong, just could have been communicated better
I once told a crew I was steering (from bow seat) that there were 500m left in a race when there were in fact 2000m left - so I got confused a bit by the landmarks. We all worked harder than we would have liked, but we won. What's the problem???
not the cox his fauld, it happends all the time that the cox misjudges distance and strokes left or that he ads some more. as crew you should just shut up listen and do your best.
ACTUALLY IT MAKES THEM MOVE FASTER JAMES POSTLE? LISTEN HERE MISTER. IMAGINE THEY ARE GOING TOO OOOO SLOE U CAN SAY THEY ARE PASSING A BOAT TO MOTIVATE THEM TO GO FASTER.🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤢🤢🤢😒😒😒😒🥵🥵🥵😡😡😡😡🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬👿👿👿👿👿👿😾😾😾🐱💻🐱🐉🐱👓🐱🚀 sorry caps
I’m the comments section, have y’all ever rowed before? No. Y’all have no idea what you’re talking about. I’m a rower, so let me say this: if the coxswain yells “last 20 give it all you’ve got” then that’s exactly what we do. We give it all we have, so we don’t have any energy left. We completely empty our tank. So when the coxswain says that, yes it IS lying. And it’s literally the worst thing you could do as a coxswain. Our coxswain one time said we had 50 meters left, that’s about 5 strokes, and instead we had 250, that’s about 30 strokes. So I used ALL my energy, only to hear the coxswain say “never mind, keep rowing.” So just shut the hell up
Man that's completely different than this. They guy made them do 2 Extra strokes. That's literally 7 seconds more. If your complaining about that than grow up
yes when the cox makes a big mistake like saying 50 at 250 its annoying but this? it happens all the time a cox misjudges distance and you should just keep pushing with all you got even though it might not be ideal
I’m not complaining, I’m just saying it sure is hell annoying when the coxswains misjudge distance. If you don’t row the shut the hell up PLEASE. If the coxswain doesn’t know the distance then why do they have to guess and mess up the boat?
@@ellabates4643 misjudging means he thinks he knows but he doesn't know. and if you want to know I do row. and as rower you should expect mistakes to happen and you should just shut up listen and try your best to do what your told. complaining doesn't help.
I am also a rower but I don’t get upset about it because I know it can be easy to make miss calls like that, they had to do two extra strokes. It’s not that big of a deal.
