This is from the Tribute Party at the Hard Rock Cafe for our old friend Coyote McCloud. I made several video clips to showcase Coyote's amazing career, and this one represented his days at Nashville's Y-107, the Outrageous FM. Coyote and the Y-Morning Zoo. This video was made March 3,1989 by Art Vuolo who graciously allowed us to use it, although I had to edit it considerably! Special in-studio appearance by Davy Jones, with Pat Sajak and Johnny Cash on the phone. This clip ends with a short aircheck from Oldies 96.3, with his co-host Cathy Martindale. By the way, the full tribute was videotaped, and will be available soon to benefit Coyote's animal charity.

And 96.3. Jerk FM now. Still resent it 20-odd years later....and it's been 20+ years since I've heard Coyote and Cathy in the Mornings yet it feels like I heard it just this morning. I really wish I could find entire unedited archives of the morning show from about 1996 on out to the end of Oldies 96.3 just to relisten to my childhood.

Whatever happened to Rhett Walker? I can't find anything on Google about him. All that seems to come up is an unrelated new band called the Rhett Walker Band. But man, what a voice!

Believe his real name was Gary Burleigh - retired years ago. Not much info online about him other than he retired after 5 years at KOMO. More info here.... www.pugetsound.media/2018/10/23/salute-to-the-pacific-northwests-gary-shannon/

That's Tim Dukes in the background! Love it. I miss SIS too (Studio Information System). That was a great control room.

In response to the question by NESherv. Rhett was in fact Gary Burleigh, a native Seattle resident. Prior to his gig with Coyote, he was Gary Shannon at KJR in Seattle, a legendary rock station. As of October 2018, he still lives in Seattle. A few years ago he was in the news department at KOMO, Seattle. But he is now happily retired.
