Definitely try to just float wax on water, instead of solid wax. For one you need WAY WAY less wax, but you will have less build up. Wax doesn't transfer heat as well as water, which means you can actually dip in, wait less than 5 seconds, and pull out. Perfectly waxed.
You can't burn wax this way either, as water can only get so hot. It can't get any hotter than boiling. Burnt wax will give a long lasting scent to your traps -Exactly what you don't want.

@@CoastalLandWildlifeServices .. almost two weeks ago.. i let my 3 cats out in the garden.. mothercat and two young cats.. then the fathercat who lives somewhere or maybe he is a stray.. who comes every few days to see his catwoman and catchildren.. he came here for about 4 years.. stumbled in on three paws he could not stand on his left hind paw it was wounded he had a lot of pain.. i fed him then he stumbled further into my house went lying on my couch for 2 days and nights.. then i took him upstairs.. to my bedroom.. after one night under my bed i awakened he was on my bed and since has been mostly laying on my bed for 10 days.. he is now doing some better.. he does not like to be touched.. it if he sees a hand he hisses.. and the first days he gave me some scratches too.. people have been very mean to my catfriend..
