I have enjoyed your channel for several years now! I rarely comment but this video is very timely for me. Just recently I got some pics of a gray fox and a coyote on successive nights off of one of these point set ups that juts out into the field exactly as you explained. Your tips are just what the Doctor ordered!!!
This is perfect timing I trap on 300 acres 160 available for trapping and deer hunting. I watch every minute of ur videos and everyone is on point great tip and I will definitely be setting different post starting tomorrow happy trapping keep up the good work. By the way I’m upstate South Carolina 💯💯🇺🇸👍👍
Great advice, this is my 3rd season in York Co. I get a little better each yr. I like your tip @ variety in sets.. I got a dozen traps I run, I'm pumped to get em in the ground
Do you notice any differences in using fox vs bobcat or coyote urine on scent post? Have you ever used or had luck with beaver castor on a scent post set?
I use mostly all coyote urine on my post sets. I have made some caster based lures and had decent luck with the cats on it, but it doesn’t seem to draw the coyotes as much, at least not down here anyway.
And I really don’t do well with fox urine. I know plenty of people that strictly use it and do well, just doesn’t produce as well for me. Bobcat and coyote urine is all I use
Good to see you man. Thanks to you and couple others ive got 5 dogs this year my first. Like you I'm a snake keeper and have carpets and pueblan milks. What do you have ? Sorry for the long comment...have you thought about using some really old rat bedding to use on sets somehow I raise my own rodents too.
I bring a little terrier mix with me trapping as well. Do you think the scent of the domestic dog attracts coyote or possibly spook them? I trap public gamelands in Pa. with lots of dog walkers.
@@davidrick5383 I’m not sure really. Only had this dog for one season now. I would imagine it would be a good curiosity scent, especially if it’s somewhere there’s not normally domestic animals.
