Isla Cozumel Mexico is famous for its magnificent coral reefs. This makes way for the most amazing snorkel and diving experiences available in the entire Caribbean.
I went there in the 90s. Fodor recommended going in a block or two from the tourist section... I did and I was so glad that I did. I found little shops, restaurants with quaint little courtyards . This is where the locals shop, eat and socialize. This is where the real Cozumel is.
Thanks for another great video, Jeff. I lived in Kona (just like you), but the Caribbean is a real paradise in my book. I find the water to be more beautiful and inviting and the culture to be more fun. I loved Hawaii, but I'd prefer the Caribbean.
That’s a great day trip over to coe-sue-MALE (yes say it that way!) when you staying in/near Playa Del Carmen, or stopping there on a cruise ship. It is NOT expensive, nor a rip-off. I’ve rented a VW Bug previously c/w a full tank and returned it with a full tank !! Much preferable to the pre-trip fill-up. The windward side (east coast) is what it’s all about. Gorgeous coastline. The restaurants and tourist traps are handy for a bite to eat. But they’re not the reason to make the trip! Do it! You won’t regret it.
Thanks for the video! Sounds like you got hosed on the rental, but glad you made it back in 1 piece lol. We're going to be there for a whole week next month and plan to rent bicycles and take the 3 reef/el Cielo snorkel tour. We also plan on riding bikes to Punta Sur,but might rent e-bikes to get to Coconuts from Secrets Aura. Don't want to ride a bike on the Transverse as it looks really trafficky.
Hello my friend. How much am I looking to spend for 4 days? In Cozumel & isla cielo. Planing on going there pretty soon. Im taking another 2 persons & I am paying for everything. Please let me know.
