I am in the phase of life where I'm just signing up nonstop for test knits! I think I need to take a page out of your book and slow down, but I just want to be productive and test knitting helps me with that. I'm excited to see your what the fade shawl work up and thank you for some new book recs - I'm going to read Slewfoot and The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida!
The Book That Wouldn't Burn was a 5 star for me too! I'd recommend the Starless Sea too, and maybe City of Dreaming Books, and the Hell's Library trilogy by AJ Hackwith
I bought the first There’s Something Killing the Children based on your recommendation. Obsessed….I’ve since bought the other five. So so good!! Oh and last night I finished a pair of socks with your trusty sock in the color Coraline. Magical!! Thanks!!
Thanks for takign the time to make these videos. I so enjoy watching them and keeping in touch. Having a child is one of life's greatest joys and I think you are making a lovely balance of everything in your life these days. Most of all I love the way you pace things and take time to enjoy what you are doing. Whenever you have time to update here it's always a treat.
Thank you so much Mel for amazing inspiration 🧶🧶🥰 it’s such a joy to Watch your podcast and g’et inspired by the items you have on your needles ❤️ beautiful yarn in beautiful colours you are so talented 🤩🧶❤️
Slowing down and being intentional with your knits sounds like the perfect way to wind down summer and transition into fall! I had most of those books on my tbr, but I just checked out Chlorine because of your rec! I just discovered how much I enjoyed slow burn horror this year, and this sounds amazing. I liked Bad Cree by Jessica Johns!
Your knitting is beautiful! I'm inspired to start a "easy to put down" shawl now 🥰 I've noticed I tend to read a lot more in the summer. Probably because it's hot and I move slower. I'm reading Peaces by Helen Oyeyemi. I love the writing style a lot so I'm going to look for more from them. The story itself is good but I'm not finished yet. Reading aloud to kiddo, Race To The Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse. We like it a lot.
