Technically the B&O is older than UP since they were first Railroad in the United States but since they are now CSX that would make UP the oldest in America
Corporate wise even UP is gone. When SPSF failed, the officials were forced to sell off either ATSF or SP, which they chose SP. SP was sold to the DRGW, who took it over but rebranded themselves to SP (this is why they got the DRGW style speed lettering). Fast forward and SP (DRGW) takes over UP and rebrands to UP. As far as corporate business goes, DRGW came out on top. Still branding wise UP is the one that still exists.
@@teapop311yeah. That reminds me of airline mergers. In 2010 Continental bought United and rebranded itself to United. In 2015 US Airways bought American Airlines and then rebranded to American.
Man I am super excited for this merger but am nervous that they’re gonna destroy some of the epic locomotive’s paint jobs, and/or have a weird paint job.
STB (as the priest): "I shall pronounce you as husband and wife." Canadian Pacific and Kansas City Southern: "Hooray!" (They kiss and a new baby is born, CPKC).
As much as it spins me to see my favorite railroad that is still around (KCS) be dragged into a merger I am sorta excited to see what'll come outta this, I'll miss KCS tho Another favorite railroad gone Missouri Pacific Chicago and Illinois Midland Illinois Central *The Milwaukee Road* And now Kansas City Southern It also has me wonder what will happen to the special units like the CP military units aswell as the orange shirt unit aswell as KCS 4006, I already know they grey ghosts are fucked but hopefully the special units just get rebranded
ond thing I hope is the interesting locomotives like the grey ghost and the kcs commemorative schemes stay around edit: i also realized they could make the grey ghost a heritage paint with kcs lettering on it as well
Sad to see them go, but hopefully this brings in a new era of prosperity for both railroads (well, actually just the Railroad), also great music choice, and shots!
Good presentation and good song. Let's hope RU-vid doesn't delete or mute your video, seeing as how their policies from 2020 onward are knit-picky to the point of being simply ridiculous when it comes to using copyrighted content.
Fun video. Certainly not what I was expecting. But that turned out to be a good thing. Really creative and fun to watch. The music? I am 76 years old, and one would think that I would not tolerate the music. But the music somehow catches the upbeat mood of the CPKC merger. It is awesome. Strong work Cowl Unit Productions. Thank you.
Canadian Pacific Kansas City railway is real now. We'll miss you both Canadian Pacific and Kansas City Southern. CPKC is carrying the memory of both railways.
It's kind of amazing, there have been rails in North America for over a century and this marks the first time a single railroad has offered coverage to Canada, the US, and Mexico.
I wonder how this merger will work out in the future. I just hope they don’t pull a Union Pacific and repaint all the KCS units into the CP paint scheme.
