Nice catches. In the future, people will get excited to see a CP or KCS unit still in their colors when the CPKC paint schemes get more common. It may be cool at first, but eventually it'll get common.

Lots of CPKC activity where I live..Dawn, Mo. They has a derailment and tore up miles of track, then while here they laid bigger rail and putting in a 2 mile siding Between Dawn and Chillicothe.

Not gonna lie, the new paint scheme is starting to grow on me.

Looks real good back to back...I was always griping that it needs more red and black up around the cab. But overall I like it.

I was at train days in St. Paul MN and saw the lead loco on display so I find cool how they managed to get it to Iowa and put it on a train

Honestly Option 5 would for been better to fit the CPKC officail paint scheme because it also had KCS colors...but knowing CPKC, they chose the bland option 1😢

Idea: Their can be a few large Class 1 Railroad Companies, but there should also be Lots of smaller Class 2 & Class 3 Railroad Companies who serve the companies and communities who don’t have access to the Big 6. And if one or more of the Big 6 should ever fail, the Class 2’s & Class 3’s can pick up the slack.

Excellent work on the video!! The livery is another thing. It is a bit underwhelming. It looks more like KCS merged with CN than CP. Perhaps we will see some variations of this paint scheme down the road.

The paint scheme looks more like a glorified Canadian Pacific on steroids rather than anything resembling the Kansas City Southern which was more colourful with it's classic red yellow and black. The yellow is totally removed. This is a Canadian gig now.

Its not bad but wish they incorporated more of the Belle Scheme

My dad, my grandfather, my great grandfather all worked for KCS and retired there. So I'm not a fan of the new livery. The beaver logo with no nod to the KCS herald hurts a little.

I still wonder tho if it will be like BNSF where we will eventually see like 4 paint schemes lol

That's right, the CPKC Option 1 livery didn't do the KCS livery any justice. In fact, IMO, it's a slap in the face to KCS. And these "employees" that CEO Keith Creel talked about that would pick the paintscheme were most likely shareholders -- choosing the cheapest paintscheme out of the five options. I was hoping that CPKC would be better than this. Guess not. The Option 1 El-Cheapo bottom dollar livery prevailed. And CPKC simply doesn't care. My take on that. If others like the new paintscheme, that's fine, but I'm out.

First gotta say, Like how you filmed and edited it, just the sounds of the train and environment and the narration. Okay, I gotta ask, how were you able to chase this Train down in such a way that you even did it with a Drone? And with a car, were there multiple people involved.

Am i the only one who thinks these trains kinda look like the 767 train from unstoppable.

If CPkc doesn't due a better job of keeping their engines clean, they will end up being just a red and black blob. Otherwise they still look like CP engines with very little notice of Kansas City Southern except for the "KC" which really just refers to "Kansas City", not the Kansas City Southern. This looks more like a purchase rather than a merger! It needs more yellow, orange and black to make it stand out...

Nicely caught video. The CPKC is a fast-food advertising! Name should remain very much the same as what it was in 1881, Canadian Pacific RR. Along with logo and paint colors. Anything else, such as CPKC, etc, etc are nonsense drivel. Unless CP a 140+ year old Class 1 Rail Road System is seeking to become known as fast foods Jokes. Great jokes for attracting variety of freight and passenger customers too. Yes remember history of Kansas City Southern and Trasporto Ferroviera Mexicana, as part of CP Canadian Pacific. Keep Canadian Pacific name. Why would say, Union Pacific, etc, etc purge their name and history? Nice to discover Union Pacific restored Big Boy steam locomotive to operational condition. As did Canadian Pacific 2816 Empress an touring CAN, US, MEX

That paint scheme lacks a whole lot of everything. All they have to do is paint every CP unit rear black and wha la. The new paint scheme. It just goes to show foamers are going to foam no matter what. And defend the fart they enjoy

I believe starting at 9:54 the crew had rounded that curve only to see you waiting there yet again and had just about enough of your shenanigans...... following them around all day to get these clips. They see you as that annoying fly that just won't fly out of the car when the window's down. They're up in that cab saying "look, yup, mmhmm, yeah, that's him again, yeah, same plates, how do we get rid of him?". Obviously they can't call you in, no dispatcher wants to be bothered by such stupidity. So, at this point in the entire affair the crews safety briefing has concluded and the mutual agreement is decisive action to deploy their counter measures to shake off the annoying stalking paparazzi rail fan you have become. Suddenly, the little yellow plastic rectangle next to the horn button that says bell is pressed to fire up the electronic clang clang and hope and pray it's annoying enough to make you want to move on and just let them railroad. Of course at the opposite end of the spectrum, it could have also been a quiet zone, so who knows? I personally like the first narrative, thoughts? Why do I think this way? Eh... 18 yrs on the railroad as an engineer. But, I really do like that pain scheme! I personally think it bests BNSF. And where's that second out autorack with the cute bee?

it may be "the best" out of the options we were given, but it wasnt up to us. it was left up to the shareholders that most likely will never see one of these abominations in the wild. but my opinion is this : if they had done something like what csx is doing with their heritage locos, the front ...and I mean the nose and both front facing sides CP red, then fade into like the "Belle" or the "whites" ...thats what we called them, or the "battleships" ( the gray ghosts). then on the back end all CP red. and under the cab windows the "KC-CP" logo with the number. or something a little more KCS than CP. instead of a stripe of yellow, with a black rear end. this crappy paint job was not well thought out. to much CP and not NEAR enough KCS. ....try again yall! this time listen to us public! , we love our KCS and just because CP bought them out dont mean they can just erase the KCS out of it all. Im thinking of drawing a scheme and uploading it and yall tell me what you think. I have to apologize, me and fellow watchers are from the same area, Westville to Watts OK. and we kinda have our own "nick names" for the different schemes our KCS has came up with, and we are rather conservative about things as are most folx around here are, and when we see the Belles, and the greys and from time to time a white-y. we call the Belles "ladies of the nite" because seems like we see more of them at nite. in the day its mostly UP, BNSF,CP, and a NS, or CSX here and there. but I fondly remember seeing almost every train with 3 40-2s, coal trains were BN c 30-7s. I remember when it was a mix of BN u30cs and C30s in the mid 80s. then it was all c 30s after about '89 then cam the wide cabs. but yeah, a little more KCS and a little less CP.
