Great video nice frame etc looks good real talk my question is I already have stock gearing box in my 64 impala 327 engine still works good but I want to upgrade what would be the best series to go with 600 or 500 as far as a direct bolt on or little to no modifications required or what additional parts what I need when I purchase either 500 or 600 series I can't seem to find a oem one thanks
@lonestar lows Right I hear you on that I really wanted to stay stock on mines but can't seem to find a new one I can purchase oem so I'm a just go 500 series like yours Thanks for the knowledge
Hey man, I know this is an older vid, but my steering box is leaking out of the front. Could I just replace it with the 500 box without swapping all of the other components?
@@lonestarlows because thats what gm recomended to use in saginaw power st boxes and pumps in the 60s it says it in my 67 impala owners manual and my 69 c-10 owners manual dexron2 dexron3/mercon u really didnt know that...
Hey man, I think I’m gonna do the 500 gearbox soon. CPP has the complete kit with manual linkage. Is that all you need? Also, did you have any radiator clearance issues? Picked up some 185/70/14s for the 64. They look good thanks.
@@lonestarlows yea I think the heads of the rods I bought r too big .i got the classic parts rods coming in the mail gonna try that .how much clearance should there be between the cross member and rods ?
lonestar lows yes I went to their showroom and was told in the instructions they only have torque specs for gear box and idler the rest is factory but I can’t find anything online and the manual I bought is shitty pages are all blurry
Talks about everything on his car but how to install power steering conversion kit. Nice car but I wanted to know more about steering not driveshaft and e brake whatever else.
