Among all solar technologies, Concentration Photovoltaic or CPV is one of the most efficient. CPV technology is based on high-efficiency triple-junction cells, used in the aerospace industry since the 90's, reaching conversion rates exceeding 40% (well above traditional silicon systems).

I worked with that years ago and doubled it, but it gets hot, and to cool it with h2o on the back is tough.

Why don't you focus with your explanation on the installation of the heat-capturing head, the idea of a shower or a solar microwave, I implemented it, but I lack the information about collecting the rays in the head, focusing it, and converting it into heat + electricity, storage,

from what can be seen, they have a fan on the receiver. this looks a lot like the infinia powerdish - that one had liquid cooling, something like a cogen CPV.

Doesn't stand a chance against panels. Maybe if it were 1/4 the size and still offered 3kw, but this is BIG.

expensive with lots of moving parts, also very hot, collection of heat on PV cells much colder in outer space. If it was 90% more efficient but only 30%. Some guy with window cleaner and paper towel will always be cleaning the mirrors every week. Cost of all that window cleaner plus wages

in a large installation - you could put cleaning "robot" on a rail system and do them when they're inverted at night.

Solar power like this makes great sense in places like Alberta and Texas. If there was a carbon tax on the portion of fossil fuel generated electricity, the economics would work out even better. And in both Alberta and Texas, they both have plenty of sunlight and the oil and gas industry is super energy intensive and dirty. This would provide many GWs of clean, renewable power, paid for with carbon tax money.
