Last year I bought a CR-68, a more limited model than the famous CR-78. I also bought the Cyclone TT-78, an analog clone of CR-78 sounds in the format of a TR-606. I have been using this for about 8 years and now I added the CR-68, after a year I realized that it is brighter than the CR-78 Now I use this combo to make Electro thymos and with sequences very similar to those of the TR-808 and 606. It's a big deal, now I have to take the CR-68 to repair a button that is the general volume that sometimes has volume jumps, so far I can deal with that problem and I always achieve those rhythms with its connection to the analog sound of the organ rhythm songs from the 70s. This plugin is very modern, but the sounds are very similar. Thanks for the video.

Cherry like to give away plugins. This one should be a freebie, not because its bad but because its very limited.

I played around with CR-78 for ten minutes and was very impressed by the possibilities to manipulate the sounds and grooves. No, it's not very limited and worth money. If someone doesn't have an analog drum plugin jet, this is a good choice.

I just gladly paid for it. I don’t think it’s limited.

i don’t know..i spent too much time with the rhythm section of my old yamaha home organ when i was a kid... and that actually had a better sound than this! i appreciate the sound of vintage analog synths and cherry audio have done a great job of recreating them, but i quite don’t understand what’s exciting about these cheap old electronic drum sounds. they couldn’t do any better back then, sounds improved dramatically since then, so why do you want to go back to these pling plong sounds?…but that’s my personal opinion. what i really enjoyed about these old drum units, was the possibility to press down several rhythm buttons simultaneously to create bizarre drum patterns. so if they would provide a variety of drum grooves you could load into the different buttons, which you then could combine by pressing several buttons the same time, together with the possibility to really change the drum sounds, either by loading samples or by using a drum synth, i would be very tempted to buy this instrument. but as it is right now, it reminds me too much of my old organ, that is still up in my attic, untouched for the last 40 years.

Any two of the "factory" patterns can be combined by shift-clicking. (You can actually get three or more to play at once on the original CR, but we found that three patterns at once pretty much always was a too-much mess... and it's really hard to get that many buttons to stay pressed). You can also use the voice cancel buttons (or instrument mutes on the mixer page) for a zillion more variations. Between messing with the factory patterns, programming your own user patterns, and messing with the voice edit and effects pages, it does a TON of stuff. :)

With Cherry Audio and Fullbucket products around there's hardly any point bothering with most other VST instrument makers. Well Surge XT I guess, but that's free anyway.

Arturia's collection is fantastic, as are Roland's & Korg's.

Everybody is showing what the presets are in this machine. Can you just use the samples and make your own stuff. I bought this and really frustrated.

These are not samples. It’s a virtual analog recreation of the sound generators of the original device. In the edit window you can change some of the parameters of each sounds. The full sound controls are shown in my video.

@@Nu-trix I got that much. SO what does each out do. If i want to use the kick or the snare. Its just different. SO I cant use the snare or bass drum in a nix. I already bought it and was looking to use individual sounds. I have to be missing something. Thx for responding so fast.

@robertmason7553 I’m not really sure about what you are trying to achieve with it.

@@robertmason7553You can sample the sound, yourself, & sequence them with another drum machine VST or your MIDI editor in your DAW.
