Welcome to the Nu-Trix the Synth guy RU-vid Channel. You will find mostly tips and tricks about Synthesizer test and reviews as well as music production app for the iPad. I have been creating electronic music since the 90's on top of teaching electronic music at the school Musitechnic in Montreal since 1995. I just enjoy testing new software and gear for music making. Take the time to look around the channel, ask questions and also check out my nu-trix.com web site for more tips and tricks. Cheers!
Great video, man! For anyone wondering, UVI would use more RAM since its using original recorded samples as compare to others cuz they use CPU. Similar to kontakt instruments.
Great video. Thanks for comparing both. Very helpful, as I just bought the Roland Go:Mixer Pro-X, and have now decided to order the Go LiveCast, as well. I’m looking forward to using the Pro-X for my music live streaming, and the LiveCast for my online tutoring business.
I'm not one to jump on the latest plugins offered but the color section offering the different textures and speakers is worth the price of admission alone. There are very few plugins that offer the different speakers and mic types. Getting a good sounding flanger, chorus and delay are an added bonus. Is it a game changer? Probably not, but overall, it's a well planned plugin with a lot of options for different tones and styles. Appreciate the walkthrough going through the different sections individually and spending some time in each area.
Yo great video. Maybe I missed it. Somewhere not listening... Haha Trying to not get a mini iPad or computer been dawless, for years though I've used logic and Ableton Famitracker , trying to just use a Guitar and my Korg Electribe EMX1 need maybe a midi foot controller? Connected my guitar to my Electribe. With 3/4 cables. Just trying to use a normal live set up normal amp.. looper pedals I have think I'm there. Haha minus a midi foot controller?
Grabbing this for sure. Not sure what is in the water cooler at Sketch Audio but I'm really digging the design and sound they are vibing with. Blip Box and this app will sound awesone
Confusing design of their latest plugins. The label is in the centre between the sliders and it’s not clear whether it’s for the above or lower slider.
In this video it appears in 2 deferent form. First I show it in a expanded form ( I think it only happens in ZenBeats) then I show it in the normal compact form. The compact form has a more clear layout for me.
I love the design of Sketch Audio plugins. I got Blip, Phase and Dr Vibe. I've seen complaints about the labelling of controls but it's perfect for me as you have to use your ears. I'll get the 2 new plug ins soon as SA are becoming my new favourite developers for sure
The arc16c can record internally only the 2 tracks of the main out. Via USB, it can be used as multi input audio interface for 18 tracks (16 inputs + main out) it can be used also for multi output audio interface of 4 outs.
Hey Nu-Trix thanks for taking the time to look at Doctor Vibe! One small note: the VST wrapper isn't quite ready yet but we do have the CLAP one available on our site. AUv3 is also starting to see more support on desktop. :)
recently grabbed the synth from humble bundle and loved it. I didn't even notice that osc 2 and 3 could be set to low, or how sync 3-1 worked. do you know what about the"multi trigger" button does? the most recent version of the plug-in has unison and Poly / mono settings
Great Demo! The ADC/DAC section sounds amazing on that first synth loop. This app is going to see a lot of use. It'd be cool to have an option to switch between vinyl and tape noise.
Thanks so much for this. I just had an email from Tunecore and tried a few of my tracks with Master Channel and, although the analysis showed my original mixes were in the right ballpark, the mastered versions were sooooooo much better - I'm really impressed!
Key scaling is as well a remnant of the D50. The D50 had though the different "Algorithms", where you could employ Ring Modulation (RM) between "Layers". There then a constant pitch across the keybed of one "Layer" would have the 'classic' RM effect. With negative pitches it was going extremely wild. It was reintroduced only with the JV1080 later in 1994. Unfortunately, the possibility of creating 'Pulse Width Modulation', which was possible on the raw separate square and saw waves in the D50 could not be handled by the JV1080 or JD800, because all waves were then only "Samples", already. The D50 was in that regard a virtual analog hybrid.
I owned TWO original SUNSYN, a version 1.0 and the “updated” version 2.0 but I sold them both after I did an A/B in my studio. I still have 30 synths (e.g. CS80, Schmidt, Waldorfs, PPG) and almost all the UVI plugins - they are reallly very good! Two Sunsyn today would be about 40K. I got about 20K for both. I bought a Waldorf Quantum & Iridium and have never regretted it with the addition of UVI plugins.
I'm a big Arturia fan. I've loved my MicroFreak since I first laid hands on it five years ago. I've loved it more with each upgrade. I bought the MicroBrute as an ancillary piece of gear a year after I got the MicroFreak and that's worked out very good too. They hook together nicely. Between the two of them and my FX pedal-board, I'm not seeing a need for the MiniFreak. I also do weekly synth work with a friend who's deeply into Eurail-rack modular synthesis and my MicroFreak/Brute system pairs nicely with his system, while the MiniFreak would not. Now I'm getting into soft-synths, particularly Vital with its vast plurality of LFO's, so I bought Arturia's Minilab mkii. But I missed the Microfreak's keyboard action. My solution was to go with an MPE, the KMI QuNexus Red, which also has great connectivity with the MicroFreak and the modular system. I think I'm finally in sound-design heaven.
Hi! Where did you get your colored rotary knobs, and which type did you get?? :) Was hoping to add some more “Jupiter-like” knobs to my System-8 with J-8 decal and custom J-8 style Aluminium sideparts
I really wish they would have an 'install everything' button. So tedious to install all the sound expansions for Zenology. Individually they're small, but there is a metric fuckton of them and you can't really go anywhere.
Annoying as FK! Huh? Been there so many times. This type of software behaviour is a total destroyer of creativity. What I find most annoying about ZenBeats is the lack of any keyboard commands on the iPad. I am running an IPad Pro with external powered hub with nice Anker stand and external computer keyboard. When I look at the lessons within zenbeats it tells me in Number 2 I think that it run the transport all I have to do is hit the space bar, just like Logic Pro, but does it run> Nope. Very frustrating, I mean I love the touchscreen but some functions are far quicker by Key Commands. I may be the fault here as there may be some setting I have not set correctly…😕
Having both I find myself to use the good old TR8 much more often. Although I wish to have some of the TR8S features in it the TR8 is so much more hands on. I never get that "come on, lets jam" feeling on the TR8s. For me the TR8s is more a rebellious production tool that needs a lot of effort and time to tame. Just the fact that there is no real empty patch/pattern by default or the lots of actions to copy an track or to select instruments starring at the display steals me a lot of fun and motivation. On the other hand the TR8 is a one of a kind "turn on and go" toy to have fun fun fun. Simple but good. If I had to choose i would keep the TR8.
Did you ever figure out if it's possible to do an ABAB variation? (Rather than AABB). Also, is there any way to copy part 1 to part 2, and vice versa? Thanks for the videos, very useful!
You should try the TherapSID. You like the analogue synths and the therapsid is a c64 sid chip based box (it has 2 slots for 2 sid chips) and sounds awesome 8 bit full analogue. Nothing compares to it and its built quality is second to none. The 2 sids can be driven by different midi channels. It would be fantastic to see a video where you use it along with the mono station and the circuit or circuit tracks.
