Caledonian Railway No. 419 (55189) the flagship of the Scottish Railway Preservation Society has arrived back to the Bo'ness and kinneil Railway after her spring 2019 tour success visiting couple of heritage railways south of the border. The locomotive was delivered by REID FREIGHT road transport to the eastend of the Bo'ness railway giving me the opportunity to film the whole unloading progress for anyone out there who ever wondered how it was done.

This Engine is in poor mechanical condition although it is hoped that the boiler should only need a re-tube. There are several cracks in the frames which will need to be repaired and the trailing axle is below scrapping size. A spare set of axles complete with new tyres is in stock for this engine. These wheel sets have had the journals skimmed and tyres profiled.
It is planned that this engine will be one of the next to be overhauled.
