If you watch a lot of these videos you will notice the locals are Male Female snobs. In the state of Calif. it's legal to keep female crabs but they are the breeders so more often then not get tossed back, a good practice. In my case, I have to drive for four hours to get to the coast so if it's a keeper I keep. If I was closer to the coast I would be tossing them back too. It's a good practice!!!!
Minh Chu i dont really follow the tide when going for snaring on the beach, i just go when ever im available but at the jetty i like to go hight tide less chances to loose your crab. For checking snare i start 10 mins then if your bait running out then adjust to 5 sometimes after you cast it they start coming and eat the bait
I tried Baker, the waves were smaller then what I see but I couldn't keep the snare out there past the breakers?? Most the videos I see taken there I see a lot more keepers then the pier or jetty?? I'm pretty sure the problem I was having was an operator malfunction.
Outdoor freedom it the depend on the location. You dont have to be past the breaker to get one. Crab getting washed to the shore so crabs come closer. Crabbing at the pier can be hot too and it can get limits in a few hr. Every day can be different luck.
Greg K i usually check 10 minutes the first cast then u can adjust to 5 minutes depends by your bait. If you think the crab taking your bait easy then check every 5 minutes. If theres a lot of crab around then 5 minutes is a lot of time so need to check less then 5 minutes

FISH ON Entertainment they’re actually both good place to go but it actually depend where the crab at. At this time Pacifica Pier is the place to get them right now but having a family with you they will more enjoy around the beach specially the view of Golden Gate Bridge😊.

@@heyhungly 2 rod stamp is for inland lake or reservoir. You’re also restricted to one rod inside San Francisco Bay. there is no limit for coastline fishing just prove you have control of your rods. California anglers eagerly pay for a second-rod attachment to their fishing license, which allows them to use two rods at any inland lake or reservoir. However, there are times when you can use two rods and without a two-rod stamp - in ocean water. And even then, there are stiff restrictions. If you’re fishing in open ocean water for ling cod or any fishes categorized as rock cod, you can’t use two rods. Because of the nature of the fishery, bouncing a weight off the bottom, where the fish dwell, wouldn’t be conducive to using two rods anyway. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife oftentimes lists Point Conception in the fishing regulations. Point Conception is at the southern end of Santa Barbara County. If you fish for salmon in the Pacific Ocean, in any water north of Point Conception, you’re restricted to one rod.
Be very cautious eating Dungeness crab. My friend and I both got domoic acid poisoning from Dungeness crab I caught at Baker Beach in 2014. Getting domoic acid in your system is no joke, it's very serious
@@scorpiontube712 I've seen people try and rent their own boat out on Craigslist for a $100 a day, a little 2-4 seater. I'm still a beginner but hungry to learn. But would not be bad split a couple ways. I got a truck with a hitch too.
I dont really eat crab. I catch crab for my family and as cooking i just steam them like how my family wants them cook. Its not all fisherman eat their catch.
