How to crack-stitch brick and masonry walls with Twistfix helical bars.
CUT away the mortar joints to 500mm on both sides of the crack and to a depth of 30mm to 45mm or about a quarter of the depth of the wall.
FLUSH slots with water to clean and thoroughly soak the joints.
FILL each void to about two-thirds deep with WHO-60 masonry repair grout.
STITCH the crack with a series of helical crack stitching bars embedded at about one-half the depth of the grout.
TROWEL the displaced grout to encapsulate the reinforcement fully.
PATCH the wall by deep-filling all cracks in the brickwork and repointing the joints with matching mortar to disguise the repair
That's it; crack-stitching brick walls in six easy steps.
A series of high tensile, stainless steel bars, spaced 225mm to 450mm apart, increases the strength of masonry walls and distributes loads evenly over the entire reinforced area. www.twistfix.c...
