Doesn't all that added material of the matting affect the fit of the panel? I would love to fix my cracked dash, but going though all that effort and then ending up with a piece that doesn't fit any more worries me

This is a bad dude. Some one should take what he is giving you and go to junkyards and get them dash pads and make them ready for paint and ship them out like he showed and get that money. He is giving you free education
