It's 7 am and this morning's yoga smells like... home
In our last prescription description, I was running through an airport, screaming "WAIT"... pushing old ladies out of the way... diving through a set of closing doors, hat falling off, reaching through a closing space to grab it... just before getting my arm crushed
Then I was in California, for the first time in this lifetime
My lover is from Cali so I was blessed with a dedicated, personal tour guide
We landed in SF and acquired a drop-top. After 10 minutes we exited the freeway, came to the top of a hill... and I saw the Pac Ocean
Immediately, I STFU
It's different from the Atlantic... but still reaches across the earth to connect many different lands and peoples
The first order of business was to visit the Sufi Khankah. A spiritual retreat center that was started in the '60s by Samual Lewis and Home of the "Dances of Universal Peace" My spiritual practice for the last 12 years
I sat in the garden that my lineage of mentors have prayed in and absorbed the blessings of the ancestors
From there it was off to Downtown SF to find the Airbnb, hop on a trolly (I got to ring the bell... like I was 7)... saw where Uncle Jessie lived, ate some bomb diggities, and acquired green plant medicine in a most unconventional way
On Day 2 we rented scooters and rode up and down the city streets until we got to the GG bridge. It was beautiful, but not as beautiful as the art center 1 block away.
It was a giant open-air structure, with a dome roof, Greek-style columns with large-scale statues at the top. It was surrounded by ponds and ornate gardens with exotic flowers blooming to greet us
I sat directly under the center of the dome and played my voice with the echo, and sang a medicine song to the gods
ni ni ni ni ni ni ni
A light lunch was in order as we were observing la dieta. We drove south to meet with Ma B's uncle and 2 aunts for a brief but pleasant family reunion
We stopped for supplies on the way back through SF, finding our next airbnb in Sausalito. We would spend only one night here. But one night can sometimes mean 10 years. And I'm utterly grateful that it's within the realm of possibility to arrange a one-night, private Mama Aya Ceremony
Remember the story of Shu? Same Shaman, same Medicine
Of course, the Medicine always brings abundance... blessings, teachings, cleansings... divinity
One of the major takeaways from this ceremony was simple... STFU (and enjoy)
Stop analyzing, overthinking, 2nd guessing ... just do it.
As if It couldn't get any better... the next day we drove thru Sac, picked up Bae's sister, her BF, and continued northbound to a most sacred place... Mount Shasta, which by the way is the root chakra of the earth. (giggle)
And there, we ate more Medicine, this time fun-gi (which we acquired on Hippy Hill in SF and also met a man named... Rasta (his RU-vid Jam1Icon)
Spiritual intimacy was palpable at this location. I didn't see any aliens. But I did feel close to God as we proceeded through our ceremony. More to come on this in the future
We ate dinner looking at Shasta, and the movement of lenticular clouds at the mountain's peak
Next day, next adventure... time to meet Bae's parents... good thing I spent the last 2 days eating sik-a-delic medicine
JK that went fine bc they're great and parents love me. Bc I'm polite
In no time we were southbound
We had a memorable vegan burger at Veggie Grille in San Jose
Then off to play with the Sea Lions in Monterey
That's where I touched the Pac ocean for the first time
and it only took 5 minutes to be presented with a gift
a dead baby kitten
yeah, a child screamed, a parent consoled, and no one else was going to do anything, so I brought the peaceful rigor mortis feline to the dunes and performed a burial ceremony
yes, that's a gift
South Bound
Even though we didn't plan anything formal... I connected with Dr. Rahim while walking along Venice Beach and he said "come over"
This led to a high speed, highly dangerous, but skillfully executed race through the streets of LA to the soundtrack of Matisyahu Live at Stubbs
Of course, it was epic. Unfortunately there will not be a video from this visit but we do have plans to connect again. More later
South Bound to Sand Diego for dinner... that place is perfect
Then West, across the Mojave Desert & Death Valley National Park in our drop-top coasting the iconic 2 lane highway surrounded by sand mountains at a cooool 125 mph
Vegas Baby... it was my mom's 70th birthday present. She wanted to go to Paris but not everyone is vaccinated so Paris, Las Vegas, it was
We saw the Doobie Brothers & Bill Burr
Beau Hightower was unavailable, this time
