During the process there were several times I felt frustrated, as I do when I work on my pieces. “It does not look good, it’s a mess”, etc are the thoughts that crossed my mind. Of course, you stayed calm and created something absolutely beautiful. How do you stay calm? That’s my question for you. 🙂🤔

Well when things start to go sideways (and they do a lot) I try to give myself permission to accept that it might not turn out, but I'm not going to waste what I've already done and I'm going to use it as an opportunity to play and learn something. I remind myself it's through my mistakes /failures that has brought me to where I am today. Hope that helps?

I know the feeling of being stuck Kate! I'm there now, I usually start out with out idea and then it takes on a life of its own .... and sometimes because of the plot twist, I don't know what to do next. I'm learning to walk away and come back another day. I wish I had room to work on multiple pieces when that happens.... one can dream 😉

I love how this turned out Tiffany very interesting and STUNNING. I jar my coloured waters. Back in 1999 I started to teach myself the Japanese traditional style ink art and fell in love with the wash technique. I would save the coloured water to be used some other time. I have done the same with acrylic water paint and enamel gives a interesting effect too. I have not tried the crackle paste yet lol!! you would think after 40 plus years. But no I make it hard for myself and paint or draw the lines in, I just can`t help myself I am addicted to the fine detailing in my art pieces. Hence the neck headaches I get and the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in both hands "👉🤪😵🤪👈" LOL!!! stubborn. Funny though I have seen a few people lately using crackle paste. ( I think that`s a sign) YES!! Anyway I love the way your awesome creative mind works Tiffany. It seems we are two peas in a pod 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣very much alike. AWESOME piece Tiffany thankyou for being here and being you
@TiffanyRemijn
@TiffanyRemijn Год назад
I never thought to save my water! What a great idea! Crackle paste is fun, I don't think I could create the lines with just a brush, I can do detail work, but that's another level! Thanks so much for being here and enjoying my art journey and giving me ideas and things to think about!

Girl you are rocking these experiments! Fine art term- not dirty water but a "wash" and your answer to Art History: Rule of Thirds was an 18th-Century painter, engraver, and writer named John Thomas Smit. Good to know my art history classes come to some good. LOL next sand and sand paper??? I have used those before..
@TiffanyRemijn
@TiffanyRemijn Год назад
No but it's been on my mind to use sand!!!! Thanks for the history lesson 😉😘

I often collect the pigments that fall to the bottom of my water container. I pour out the majority of the water when I’m cleaning up at the end of a day, and then let the rest evaporate. It’s usually more like a paste the next day, but still very useable. I highly recommend it! 😊
@TiffanyRemijn

The rule of thirds was first written down by John Thomas Smith in 1797. In his book Remarks on Rural Scenery, Smith quotes a 1783 work by Sir Joshua Reynolds, in which Reynolds discusses, in unquantified terms, the balance of dark and light in a painting.

Remember to be careful about adding too much water to acrylic paint, it will cause the binding properties to breakdown and the pigments will separate. When all that water evaporates only a small amount of the acrylic resin remains on your work and the pigments won't be protected and can smudge.
@TiffanyRemijn
@TiffanyRemijn 11 месяцев назад
Thanks Tia, I started my art journey as a fluid artist and my first ever piece was a dutch pour. I learned the hard way (more often than I care to admit) about consistencies and ratios. You are so right, I've had pigments breakdown, blow apart .... so many scrapped canvases 🤦🏻‍♀️

This is fabulous!!! I love dirty water too lol it's the perfect stain!! Actually speaking of stain have you ever tried using water based clear prestain that you can tint yourself?? Love it!! I absolutely love that you used texture supplies cuz I'm a texture kinda girl I always try to make things look 3d and I love that this has so many layers and the colors are fantastic as well nickel azo gold would have really enhanced the texture had you watered it down as you did the yellow ochre just a thought.. I'm really enjoying your channel! Great work!! Btw are you in the states?? I was curious where you got that crackle paste and gel at guess I need to check the box below lol
@TiffanyRemijn
@TiffanyRemijn Год назад
I'm in the Netherlands actually so some of the stuff I use is from Europe as I can't always get the same supplies or the cost is outrageous to get them shipped. However the texture stuff (since I'm from Canada) is exactly the same as the wall hole filler you buy at Home Depot or Lowes ... it has the same consistency. If you want it more watery you can add some water and stir it in and it creates a smoother texture. And no I've never tried Prestain 🤔 this was the first time I tried a wash aka dirty water amd I must admit I loved it!
