Pokemon Emerald's Battle Frontier has many characters. Cradily-3 sure is one of them in this once in a lifetime scenario! JOIN THE DISCORD: / discord Isn't Pokemon Emerald so cool?
As a casual player who has little knowledge, I’m always surprised to find out that ‘no damage’ is such an effective strategy in specific scenarios. Well done
this video is a gem. exactly the kind of deep scenario which is so interesting about Battle Factory runs, and the commentary which makes LRXC worth watching.
@@LRXC1 It’s a hack that turns the entirety of Red into just Battle Factory with all its gen 1 janky glory. Gen 1s battle mechanics are so uniquely broken, it’s hilarious and actually interesting. Would love to see you try it for a change of pace.
great video man. I love seeing deep dives into how the AI behaves. Solar Beam AI is crazy unique especially with the fact that it's discouraged if your mon resists it but compounded with the possibility of recover, sub, and sunny day I see how that set makes for some wonky interactions. Shoutout to Gen 3 battle factory for having such unique builds. Would love to see more like this!
Dude awesome video! This was such an awesome breakdown of how to get around these extremely technical and difficult scenarios. Your ability to think of all that while going for the world record and being under pressure is impressive. This video will provide a ton of information for players that are wanting to learn more about the AI and how it works and how to adapt to these crazy out of the blue encounters at the Battle factory. Well done Logan 👏
That's such a cool play, amazing job on finding it! I think it's also a testament to the Factory that you can have these awesome moments, even if the battle ends in a loss. Looking forward to having you back chasing some WRs!
Great maneuvering! Thats what the battle factory is all about: making seemingly questionable plays that are actually a very calculated response to how Smart AI chooses its moves! I think the quirkiest piece little of AI Move Choice Analysis is the dual type glitch where it says some dual types are not seen which will cause Smart AI to make foolish plays. The only two relevant examples are Skarmory (Flying type not seen) and Flygon (Ground type not seen). I have anecdotally seen Skarmory attract EQs from the opponent/Noland, and Flygon attact Thunder Waves from slower pokes! My video "Proof of Drug use by Enemy Trainers" showcases Smart AI Zapdos repeatedly TWaving my faster Flygon1.
Great video! Take just a liiittle more care with your pop filter, and I think you'll be one of those wildly underrated channels destined for hundreds of thousands of subs. :D
Me too. It's gone. Maybe a glitch in the matrix. Regardless you have great stuff and several times my friends and I have watched your streams while playing games together
As cool as competitive pokemon is, it's such an interesting game mechanic to play and manipulate the AI like this. It's like this totally new game hidden within pokemon
At first I thought you could've just went Swampert and then back to Gengar on the Solarbeam to put it into range for the next one, but with the chip damage you need to put on Cradily your line is more clean afterall.
Yep! ALSO remember Cradily would’ve subbed. And Swampert isn’t faster so it wouldn’t break the sub and even it did break the sub it’s still same scenario! Cool right? Although there is maybe SOME sort of line, I just didn’t feel like talking about it since it might’ve complicated the video haha
@@LRXC1 Yeah, I imagine there is some line where you can bring Swampert in while sun and sub aren't up, but that's just gonna end up more complicated, instead of simpler, haha
Solar Beam is a guaranteed OHKO on Swampert, so Cradily would want to click it, no? If the Sun is not set up that buys you one turn. Assume that you switch Swampert in on the turn Sun ends and Cradily recovers to full behind a Substitute. 0 IV 252+ Atk Swampert Earthquake vs. 31 IV 0 HP / 170 Def Cradily: 67-79 (41.6 - 49%) -- guaranteed 3HKO - you would definitely break the Sub on the charging turn, if you are faster, you'd get a good lick in before Slaking comes in to finish Cradily. (0 Speed IV Brave Swampert is only 5 points slower than 31 IV Modest Cradily, so assuming you got decent enough IV from wherever you were in your run, you should outspeed) Or did I miss something?
Swampert was slower than Cradily, therefore I was almost competely unable to get Swampert in without Cradily still being in a situation where Gengar+Slaking had to finesse it
Yeah! There could’ve been a line with this, I didn’t really wanna complicate the video more but, the problem is if I swapped Swampert in, Cradily is substituting on the switch, or Gengar had to be in to break said substitute!
