These type of titles “worlds oldest” and other like it are more about an individual country’s pride than it does anything to do with history. We know civilizations existed before, they just didn’t have writing/we haven’t found any writing yet. That’s really the only difference between 6000+ year old sites and later ones that we call civilizations. It’s just writing. We know every other box to check for civilizations existed before the Sumerians, the Sumerians just have the oldest writing system we have identified and translated.
