Cradle, sold for $10,000 - Restoration 

Welcome to today's video where you saw the renovation of an old wooden cradle.
Cradles have been used in various historical periods and cultures around the world.
Since the early Middle Ages, cradles have been painted in paintings with side-to-side or rotational rocking.
Cradles rocked either on the ground or on a pedestal.
But we also know other types of cradles. One of them is Hamaka. This cradle was made of one piece of cloth and was anchored to two pillars in the dwelling.
Its equivalent is a hammock.
A hanging cradle was a common part of medieval and modern dwellings.
It was suspended from the ceiling and had the form of a wooden box, basket or was made of fabric.
Around the year 1800, there were arguments about whether or not the cradle was harmful for newborns.
Scientific research in the second half of the twentieth century proved the usefulness of cradles.
Rocking supports the psyche, mobility and breath regulation.
And that's why the cradle has remained an ageless classic and an important part of the children's room even in today's modern times.
