Nice Sheaths. Like the escutcheon pins. Question can it be made with one big loop instead of two?Make the loop rounded on the bottom. Put a concho in the middle. Keep up the good videos really learn a lot and enjoy them.

I've been missing the mark on these knife sheath's! Thank you for having this channel and explaining it in clear detail. I wonder though, are you up for a little challenge? I made a seax knife and the complimenting sheath is not as good as I'd like. I can send you pictures if you'd like or there's a video on me making it if that interests you. Nice work as always!

Hi, @@viktorgeorge9144 I asked you about a possible challenge for a sheath and I wanted to revise that. I'd like to propose to do a collaboration for charity. I'll make the knife and you make the sheath, we auction it off, take only what we used in parts/materials to make the items, and donate the rest to Wounded Warriors or something. I see you've got NCOIC on your shirt, and I'm a retired Marine and I think the Wounded Warrior project is a worthy cause. Of course, I'm open to others or splitting money up. Let me know what you thing. I'm loving the work your putting out and it gives me some really great ideas for some of my future projects. Have you ever thought to do a sheath for a sword? Semper Fi, Jason
@viktorgeorge9144
@viktorgeorge9144 Год назад
Hello Jason Sorry for the delay in responding. I’ve been up in Prescott AZ for some RnR I’ve never made a sheath for a sword but it’s basically a large scabbard Yes I’m retired Air Force and an old NCOIC so only those who know know😂 I’d love to collaborate with you for Wounded Warriors. My email is gcubic@icloud.com and best communication is thru text and/or a call at (520) 909-8256 Thanks Jason. I would like it if the knife was a utilitarian outdoorsman knife as my expertise lays in a working sheath. I haven’t done any Chef knife cases.

Thank you for your videos - they are excellent. I have a question - there is a part of the video and I struggle to understand the term. Are you saying "sketch pin" for the tiny nails? I have tried looking up sketch pin and obviously can't find anything so I must be misunderstanding the term. Thank you and thank you for inspiring me to have fun with leather
@viktorgeorge9144
@viktorgeorge9144 Год назад
Right on Mike Thanks so much for the kind words. Those are escutcheon nails , but they must be solid brass which is rare nowadays I’m glad you found this as creative motivation. 🙌

Keep those videos going! I love it. I've work with leather for while but I'm just starting to get into knife sheath and it's really something I struggle with, especially when it comes to wet molding and retention and planning the adequate clearances, but also when I'm asked to make a knife sheath that's not meant to be carried vertically, or horizontaly, but at some angles. This type of sheath (not folded) are more straightforward for me as the knife fitting is pretty easy, but still, I love the craftsmanship that goes around it, and you're pattern making techniques are really helpull. Thank you for sharing! I have one question though, why would you dye it at the end, and not before assembly when the hardware is not in place already?
@viktorgeorge9144
@viktorgeorge9144 Год назад
Thank you CK! I appreciate your kind words and I agree that these sheaths are pretty straightforward and it’s my intention here to start with basic sheath design. I’ll eventually do more which will show some angles and horizontal (scout carry and bushcraft type attachments) I have done both methods regarding dying. I use an airbrush for dyes and within five minutes of dying take a soft horsehair brush to surface burnish which removes the dye from the hardware. Thanks for your banter it’s appreciated
