Greetings from Russia! Main body made of spruce board, thin plywood, plate 2-3 mm approx. Making a plywood plate is wrong, but I didn't give a damn, I did what was available to me. It is recommended to make a veneer plate. Thanks for the comment!
Yes, this is reverberation, I did not record for an example of the sound that would sell. I just wanted to show a beautiful sound and game). The powerful sound is due to the steel strings from the cello. I like classical alto talharps, I don't like bass talharps , they all sound too slow and heavy , unmelodic
@@NicolaeRollinthat bass talharp sound reminds me one of Tuva throat singing styles, the deep and slow one - homey. So it could probably complement one another.
Incredible Talharpa! I'm trying to build my own and was wondering how much depth does yours have? I'm considering hollowing out a 1.5in board, but not sure if that will be to shallow to get a good tone. Also in your experience do talharpas made from a solid carved body, or a multi piece glued body sound better? Keep up the great work and thanks for the help!😊
Hello. I think the optimal board thickness is 1.7 - 2 inches. I make it whole, because it seems authentic to me, but I don’t know what sounds better glued or whole
Could you post the scale length and dimensions please? I'm researching for a build. Also I'm curious about a putting a nut before the tuners. I have seen nuts on smaller versions, but not on cellos or basses. Beautiful job on your talharpa!!! Thank you!
The dimensions are 100x19x5 mm. The string length is about 70mm. As far as I know there is no any standarts for the dimensions or a scale length. I don't think that there is a practice of useing a nut near the tuners on that type of musical instrumetns. I hope my reply was helpful.
Are you doint commissions ? Cause this sounds and looks damn juicy man. I already have a great sounding bass talharpa , but im interested ! Just let me know 👍 and btw. Its not just the tone , dig your way of playing ot to. Hails
no manufacturing standards, these are folk instruments, cut out the shape, hollow out the resonator cavity, cut out the deck with holes and glue it, sand for a long time
some photo materials on my instagram. yes, in general, there is a lot of information everywhere instagram.com/collinrollin/ instagram.com/p/B-nNeVJICu1/
