On a serious note, you have been my go to for instrument training. Once I finish and pass, I'll be sure to shout you out man. Thanks for all your help and effort. You simplify instrument training so much, it was very hard at first but once I came across your channel, I fully understand lessons.
Preparing for my IFR training now. Allow me to say that this material is lit AF as the kids would say. Thank you. You deliver great content in a very understandable manner.
I would add to Vin Man's comment that you are the gold standard for training videos. Excellent presentations !! I do, however, have a request for you. I continue to struggle with the IFR filing when I have multiple "option" approaches at as many as 4 different airports. ATC always seems suprised JKA to JKA (BFM, MOB, PQL, CQF) I simply state in the remarks sections for "the option" approach at each airport. Seem simple enough. What should I be doing??
With FlightAware there’s also an “IFR Route Analyzer,” where it will list recently cleared routes and altitude ranges. Further, if you click the desired route, it automatically opens in SkyVector. On the bottom of the page, it shows what specific flights used each route.
That’s better than having to “Step” on the controller’s transmission and say something like, “Wait! I’m not ready!” When I’ve listened to said communications, I’ve heard controllers say something along the lines of, “Cessna 3AB, for future reference, you should be ready to copy right away,” in an irritated tone. It’s also happened to me a couple times when I fly on networks like VATSIM and PilotEdge.
Another thing I’ve heard listening to Clearance Delivery frequencies on Live ATC is that controllers don’t always tell you that they have your clearance and that you should tell them when you’re ready to copy after they’ve already told you to standby. With that being said, you should still have your pen, hand, or whatever you’re using to write, handy. (Cont’d)
FlightInsight been crazy out here with the pandemic and GA shut down. But just went flying last weekend for first time in 5 months. Hoping to fly and get some dual in the states this summer. I’ll reach out to you through your website. These videos are very solid.
@@YourFriendlyGApilot Of course! All of that's laid out to see for everyone in the Positive Pilots Discretion Rule Pamphlet Thing or PPDRPT. It states that any pilot can take any acronym any way they want or make up there own if that's what they chose to do when there's weather outside. 😁🙃
It’s a platform called VATSIM. It’s a network of volunteers providing ATC services to pilots connected on their network, works with most flight sims including MSFS 2020. It’s not the real thing of course, but the skills of the controllers make it very nearly the real thing and I’ve found it be a great training tool. Their software is on their website if you google Vatsim
