We had our first disagreement today! I was shaking my head and saying no not that one ( the mustard colored label) my husband gave me the look 👀. 😂🤣

Sometimes it just falls in place and other times the planets don’t align right away...then tomorrow when you open the book it is like magic...the page looks great...thanks to those craft spirits that wave their wands and poof all fixed👍❤️

Chuckling to myself at Janet Gills' comment below about your "disagreement." I was doing something similar when you were dithering with the labels. "You need real texture now, Gayle! Fibers!" And then you did. Through the amazing coolness of RU-vid, back through time, you heard me and did it. ;-) I've not yet done an altered book. Not sure I will unless I come across the right kind of book, I guess. I'm glad to hear your daughter is doing better. My son, Jason, has an incredibly difficult medical history, and while he's not dealt with Crohn's, he once had a roommate in the hospital who did - a little guy, only 6. I felt so badly for him and his mother. And of course, this was more than 35 years ago, so I'm sure treatments weren't what they are now Being the mother of someone with a chronic illness is its own kind of pain. And when they are adults and you're not the one making decisions and keeping records and monitoring meds, etc., after a lifetime of doing so, well, it makes me twitchy crazy when he gets ill now! But I keep my mouth shut unless he or his wife asks something about his history or what we'd do. I just take my twitchy crazy self to the craft room and work it out. ;-) Prayers, Gayle, and love.

Your book is like any really good book,.... don't want it to end. I'm always amazed at how right your choices of things to put o a page are.I always learn from watching your videos. Even if it is "just go for it!"

Yes I think you should try it. ( book pages on Etsy) you have so many nice pages. You could bundle them up with book pages from colored pages from other books. Especially the older book pages they are hard to come by

Gayle I've been watching alot of your old videos because I love to watch you everyday and sometimes more then once. I've learned so much from watching you. I just love this altered book. What an artist you are. This book is awesome. Thank you for all the things you show us because I'm a newbie and it makes me so excited to make alot of journals and try all different types. I especially love watching your collaging.

I would be interested in you selling book pages that have at least one drawing/illustration on each page, so I hope you make a special pack of those. I can find old paper, but I've never found paper (other than some dictionaries) that have any drawings on them. Normally, while you work, I'm giving my opinion if something works or not, but this time, on the page with your doilies where you were trying to cover up the page number, I was actually yelling "straw paper, straw paper!" at you. Harumph! Why can't you hear me even though you probably filmed this 5 days before I viewed it? LOL!

WOAH! 15 minutes and you got to use your papers you were going to use in the beginning ! Amazing 😉

I just watched this video again as I am working on a Christmas journal. I hope you got to watch the movie again, I Can Only Imagine, it was awesome! If you are looking for some good Christian movies War Room, God’s Not Dead 1,2 and 3 and Courageous are just a few of really good ones! I’m watching almost a year later & enjoying it. I picked up a couple books at $ Store to do altered book so I sought this old video out for ideas & techniques.

I’m pretty full of book pages myself - I don’t use them nearly as quickly as you do - but I definitely am going to search Etsy for coffee dyed paper. I’ve tried it, but it doesn’t look as nice as yours.

hi gayle, hope you got caught up on sleep, i am worthless when i'm tired and running on fumes. you got a lot accomplished even if it felt like all cylinders weren't firing! lol you used scissors! hooray!! now we wait for the tearing rulers to see how they do, i kinda think scissors will be the best for the tiny edges.... it's just too tricky to get a good hold/pinch....hmm, maybe trying to grab the skinny edge with tweezers....? i might try that. glad to hear some good news for your daughter. hope mr A gets to feeling better and things go well for him. you are in my thoughts my friend.... tfs and inspiring even when your tired 😍

Best wishes for you and your family. I know Crohn's disease very well since my husband suffers from it. Those flare-ups keep him in bad shape every now and then. I hope doctors will find the best treatment for your daughter so she can have a normal functioning life.

Yes I think that's a great idea putting your extra book pages on Etsey. Also it would be great to have a opportunity to purchase some of the things you find at estate sales. Because of my health I don't get a chance to get out that much anymore. Besides I'm in Idaho and Montana is not that far away for mail to travel, at least for me. Especially when you were trying to get the backing off the round label and I said, “Gayle, don’t you dare get that pen knife out! You’re too tired!” Right on cue you said your hubby told you not to pick up a knife today. With regard to medications for your daughter: last month I took a DNA test (cheek swab) that determined which medications will work for me. It was specifically for psychiatric medications but I just looked it up & it works for other medications also. I now know that the medications I was on don’t work as well & have more side effects than the ones I’m switching to. It was a $300 co-pay, so it is expensive. But the testing is out there. Maybe this can help for crones? She can always ask her dr. It’s aggravating trying new meds out.. maybe this will help. The co-pay does go off of income. Just google dna test for medications & you’ll get quite a few different things. 😁💜💜

I'm new to journaling but I tried a readers digest book. What did you do about it getting too full. I barely made it a third of the way and it wouldn't close. I started removing extra pages but then you see the page remnants. It looks ok but when you have several together, it creates a ledge of cut papers. Is there a better way to do it? Thank you.

The detail you attend is so mesmerizing to me! Many of my own pages are bare-looking to me! I suppose I need to build my 'stash' a little better to get to this degree of detail. Volleyball was what I was good at in sports. My junior high school had a competition between the different classes(periods), where the winning team would play the faculty. My team won among all the classes, but, we didn't beat the faculty! LOL I served a ball that was difficult to return. It's all in the spin when you serve! LOL I scored my team 12 points in a row! LOL Thank you so much, Gayle! That you post every day is awesome!

I was watching another lady do an altered book, she just put the glue on, closed the book & opened it right back up. To eliminate the buckling, she said that way it uses the books natural shape, or something like that? Lol Made sense and it looked like it worked & layed a little flatter. Just sharing an idea. :) Yours is lovely. So glad your daughter is feeling better. Sorry & hugs to you & hubby that he feels better fast.
