Prayers for your daughter’s recovery! As we get older change in our daily activities takes a toll on us. My husband & I flew from MO to MI for a few days to see my granddaughter’s graduation for her Masters degree, so proud! Got home yesterday & today I have either slept or just laid around recouping. While gone I did something to my left knee & now my lower back is hurting bad...talk about out of shape! Taking Tylenol for the pain....it’s working out great because I am able to catch up on your videos! This altered book process is very interesting! Love it so far! You take care of your family! Also whatever is going on with your husband know I am thinking of him. I love watching your videos & feel we have a lot in common, & now I know you were born in the 50’s I know why, I too was born in the 50’s! Things you say I relate to. You crack me up Gayle! It’s hard to imagine how time flies! Our children are getting older, a kick of reality! But I love my retirement & crafting in my room too!
You are so awesome. I feel the same way about my crafting. It has saved me. When life gets overwhelming, I can go to my craft room and it is very healing. I'm sorry for your daughter. What a terrible disease. You are my hero. Thanks for all your posts. God bless you.
My prayers are with you and your family. I am a hospice nurse who has had Crohn's disease for 40 years. It's very difficult, but there are good meds out there. Many are very expensive, but some of the pharmaceutical companies will help provide meds for anyone without insurance and for those on need financially. It's a long road, but stress is a large factor and there are many good books on it. Hang in there and give her a hug from a Crohn's nurse :). -Nancy P. S. I think you are amazing!

Gayle on tearing the paper figure out where you want to tear, then turn to side down and bottom to top and then it will tear with more on the side that is not so tiny. I hope this makes since. lol

sorry - i hit the commnet buton - I was going to say that I would buy from Antique Paperie but she doesnt allow her digis to be used in items you are selling. If do plan on making journals to sell, but not right now because I am still teaching. It would be a full time job in itself. So for now I just do it as a hobby, mostly for other peoplle. By the time I get to having my own etsy shop, I would never remember that the Antique Paperies digis can not be sold in any project I use them in. Have a great night Gayle!

She is going to clarify the wording on her listings as she doesn’t want folks to misunderstand. I’m glad you commented, so I could clarify with her. What she meant was you can’t sell the digitals themselves or parts of the digitals as your own. SO....you better hop on over there and have yourself a shop! Haha! My daughter has Hashimoto’s dx. Crohn’s falls into the same spectrum. Its so hard to watch them go from doctor to doctor and try different meds and foods. My daughter found out shes allergic to milk, wheat, eggs and many other things. She had specific dna testing for food. I totally understand your pain and feeling helpless during what we now know are called storms. I will pray for her and the family! Its such a hard battle for them.
First of all, you are a SUPER TROUPER, grandma, mom, wife and inspiration to us all! I’m so sorry about your daughters struggle with Chron’s. It’s an awful disease and I pray they find something that doesn’t make her have the horrible reactions really soon. 🙏❤️ Second, if you can find a metal ruler with cork on one side (so it won’t slip) it works awesome for tearing paper. 💖 Third, I agree that Antique Paperie has amazing papers! 💖

I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter with Crohns Disease. My boss also has it. He has been on a gluten free diet for 3 years now and does not need to take any medicine. Has she tried to go gluten free?

I had the feeling all day yesterday when you didn’t post a video that something was going on. I know a few people with Crohn’s and it’s a tough one. In their experience the first year or two was the most challenging because of dealing with medication issues. Then things settled down. And you are so right about letting the tears flow, it helps to move the feelings through. I am grateful for you and your videos, they helped me to get through my own health challenge in March. Saying some prayers for you and your family ❤️

Oh my you poor dear. Blessings to you and the family. The caretaker has the hardest job. What a wonderful family you have. Tears came to my eyes when you talked about your son. My brother and sister and I are like that but my husband and is brothers were not. It really is a blessing when you see them truly care about each other. Hang in there and you know your subbbie friends are out here for you when ever you need us. I am so thankful for your video and understand the dedication and work that goes in to making them. Hi Gayle, As a person with Hashimoto's thyroidism since I was 22 (I'm now 59), I can relate how it can be with an autoimmune disorder. It's been a roller coaster ride for me. Though, Crohn's, I believe, can be so much more challenging. Your daughter is a real trooper going through what she's gone through! The pain of it, as well as the expense of the medication...wow! So glad she lives close to Canada so she can go to get her medicine. My mother was misdiagnosed with this disease and for 2 years went through quite a bit concerning the expenses of the meds. I will pray for your daughter and also your little Bucky. I hope he is finally home and doing better. My daughter is a soon to be Major in the Marine Corp Reserves. One of the first women to be assigned to an infantry unit in the U.S. I'm so proud of her. She's a real go getter. She's not as crafty as I am, but she found a love for carpentry this past year. Considering that professional carpenters go back for several generations in the family, it's not surprising. She has been building all kinds of things and she tells me it's such a stress relief for her. She has 3 boys, a Newfoundland dog, and my son-in-law, who is such a wonderful man, and they keep her going all the time. She loves it; says she is really happy and wouldn't have it any other way. I am an inker, too. So, I just love watching you ink away! You go, girl! Things that help us feel our age a bit, eh? When Harry Met Sally is now 30 years old; Pretty Woman, 29 years old; Sleepless in Seattle, 26 years; Titantic, 22 years; and The Notebook, 15 years. Where has the time gone? I feel like I just watched those. Yes, every time I see a re-run of any of these, I think, there is no way those are that old. I saw on an HGTV special that the Brady Bunch kids were going to help renovate the original Brady Bunch house with the Property Brothers. They showed a commercial with those kids walking down the sidewalk and well...they are looking kinda old, too. And I bet after about 45 years that house does need some renovation. Anyway, you were saying how you were going to take a walk with your hubby and how much you love the Spring. And now, blink, and it's Fall and it's time to walk in the crisp air. How fast the seasons come and go. I pray often that I'll be able to see many, many more; I love both those seasons so much. And the first beautiful snowfall. Christmas, Easter and oh...so many wonderful things in life, isn't there? So many gifts we are blessed with and to be grateful for. Ok, I know this is a 4 month old video, but I just like to chat along with you, Gayle. It just makes if feel like we are just sitting here having some crafting fun and chatting away the hour. And I'm happy to be watching these videos I haven't seen yet. I am learning lots about how to do an Altered Journal. Really love the way it comes together so quickly. I will be watching another one tomorrow, unless I'm too tired after work. I will be subbing a Kindergarten class. Oh my...not sure how I'll be feeling when I get home from that one. I am so behind the times! You did this back when? It is October already. Fall chills are eating at my hubby. I like it cooler, not frozen. Utah is mostly winter/ summer with slivers of fall & spring. Over all I like it here. It definitely is not California (my home state). But I like it here. I like watching your videos. Going to make junk journals for Christmas gifts this year. Gayle I am sending you a FB PM regarding crohnes. My daughter almost died when she was 30, hospitalized 26 times in 24 months. We have found something that works to help the body heal from many different issues. It has given us both our lives back after over a decade of suffering.
Hello Gayle, sorry to hear about your daughter being admitted to the hospital, I understand the situation, my brother has cron's disease, he has had it for many years now, he had his up's and down's, but he is doing better, your daughter will come through this as well, especially with God's help, praying for her to find what kind of medicine she can take that will not cause her any issues, also that your husband will get better as well, MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY , you are a blessing to me every day thanks for all your hard work Love you and your family

I have kids (3) and 8 grand babies and I feel every toothache, backache etc that they have and like you wish I could take their pain away, but you know what Gayle, this is life’s journey and sometimes it’s though, but with your love and positive attitude your daughter is blessed . Aww, Gayle, I am so very sorry about your daughter. I worked with a girl that had Crohn's Disease and also had many ER visits and hospital stays too. So I know what she is going through, although I can't say I know how she is suffering. I hope she has some of your bright and positive personality to get her over the worst of times, bless her heart. I know as a mom how you must feel to seeing your child in such pain. I am so sorry. And, yes, our crafting is our happy place, our sanctuary, our 'release' place to go to. Your children sound like such angels, but I am not surprised, because look who their mom is!! And too, I do pray that your sweet hubby's health problems get under control and there will be nothing to worry about soon about him. My grandson, who is now 13, has had Crohn's disease since birth. He wasnt diagnosed until he was 6 and was very ill. His whole digestive system was ulcerated and he was refusing to eat anything but raw brocolli and peanut butter. He went weekly for infusions of drugs. He, was on a liquid diet for 6 weeks and unbelievably he loved it, because he didnt have pain anymore. The smell of it was ghastly. Through it all he went to school and was an A grade student. He still has infusions monthly and has suffered some ulcerations in his lower bowel which became infected and had to have surgery. He is very stoic and just accepts this as life and its challenges. He is a lovely boy, very intelligent and kind. He is a superb cricketer as well. We are very proud of him. Please send my very best wishes and prayers for your daughter.
I hope your daughter is feeling better! I don't know much about Crohns disease other than it is horrible. Raising awareness for chronic illnesses like Crohns is important since there are still no cures. My thoughts/prayers are with you and your family. About the slipping of the paper when you're tearing, what if you tried it on a surface less slick than your glass mat? I haven't tried it myself but I thought I'd mention it since you're at your craft desk much more frequently than I can get to mine. Many hugs to you!
Gayle.....I sure know what you are going through with your daughter, as my son also has some serious health problems and also had a bad episode the night before Easter. As a Mom you just want to kiss their boo boos all gone like when they were two.....but you can't. I have chrones and ulcerative colitis. I'm in remission now. The medication is expensive. I was given immunosupresants to stop my immune system from attacking my bowls, and anti-inflammatories. I'm on a gluten free diet and that's what had helped me too. I've been hospitalized, many times throughout the years. I know how painful the flareups can be. Stress is a big factor in making the condition worse, so crafting helps me with my stress. I hope she feels better soon. Thanks for sharing you craft.
Sorry to hear about your daughter, hope she's doing better. Love the cover on the book you're using. Also I think you're pretty well organized! I found a whole other box with my wooden stamps so I think I may have to use a trick for making a shelf. The metal pieces that hold acoustic tiles in a ceiling are perfect for holding them. The only bad thing is it only holds single file. Mine would take too much room I'm afraid. Anyway I really enjoyed your video and look forward to the next one.

Good thoughts for your daughter, we have a friend who suffers from this and we know how badly it affects her. We had a bad couple of months last year with my husband's health but he is amazing now. Remember and look after yourself too! Loving the books.

Gayle I was so sad to learn about your daughter’s diagnosis of Crohn’s disease. My daughter was diagnosed with it in April 2000. It is an ugly disease, and that’s all I’ll say about it. Your daughter is in my prayers, as are you and the family. 😔

Prayers and hugs for the family. I have lived with ms for 21 years autoimmune diseases are so up and down. Please tell her to take it day to day. Reach out to others who she can relate too a support group maybe. Escaping to music, art, reading give us such pleasure when going through hard times.
Oh mercy. Crohn's is just horrid thing to have to deal with. And as mom it's hard to know when they get the flu or toothache let alone a, life altering disease such as hers. I'm hoping she can at least get a medication that will help reduce inflammation so much that she is able to function more close to normal. Hugs to you all.
