This is the type of video I appreciate watching. With young kids, I don't always have 8 hours to spend in huge projects. These are small projects, easy and fast to make (can include the kids). During the game, it's fun to have a few accessories like this... I want more :) Thank you again for sharing! Stéphane

You are right, these projects are great for kids as well as parents. Using projects you and your kids made will enrich the experience even more. Unlike some crafters I try to keep most projects easy and inexpensive.

I was a little skeptical when this one started, but I must say, I can't get over how amazing that tendril looked when it was all textured and painted up. Great job, as usual, Scotty.

"make sure it hardens for a few minutes before you play with it." Wise words.

Evard's black tentacles I think they are.. very cool technique, the leaves make the vine really pop! During the watching I was thinking of different things I could use to support the vines to get interesting twisting shapes... have to make some of these in future.

You answers a question that I have been going over. I have been thinking of making tendrils for plant creatures, magic users, and even for sea creatures (Krakens, Giant Squids, Octopus). Also like the new vid format...

They transport as well as metal figs. If you are not careful with metal figs you can bend extremities. They are strong enough for normal wear and tear.

Yeah, that could work, or just use wire externally during the shaping and drying process, to get the required twists and curls.

Made four of these since I couldn't find anything like them and needed them for a game. For such a cheap and simple craft, in the hands of a total klutz like me, the results are quite impressive. Well thought out and nicely explained. Thank you for this!

This is so awesome! I've wasted so much money buying set pieces. Thanks for taking the time to show this. I love using aberrations and I think that with a little tweaking this kind of thing could come in handy.

Pipe cleaners will make the vine pretty fat as it will be hard to get the fluff to lay down. Also the sharp taper at the end could be a problem. I have no problem getting interesting shapes with the method shown.

I like this a lot can see using this in a lot of different ways. Maybe even wires that could actually wrap up a player or npc.

pipe cleaners crossed my mind, what do you think? Maybe twist the paper around it letting it taper at the end.

I would guess they don't transport very well. Plus I want to get a hot glue gun, you seem to be in love with yours.

you could make this with some iron wire and some clay, green stuff or glue-drenched paper too, I wager. Fairly easy too... I'm gonna give it a shot some time next week.

theDMsCraft I somewhat did what you did but with an iron wire at the center. I can bend it and change its shape, pretty dope.

Bigger versions could be like fire, water or air elementals.

I dream hot glue

Could work but why add more steps as well as expense to a simple technique?
