Crafting A Mudlarking Dolls House Cot For Our Frozen Charlotte Dolls! 

I just LOVE this channel. In a world of plastic and throwaway this is an absolute delight for the imagination 😁🥰🇬🇧

I’m sure the frozen Charlotte’s are happy in their new crib, because it was made with love. You ladies rock. Even Sunny agreed.

The cot being a bit of a death trap is only in keeping with the childrearing practices of our ancestors, going by the old bottles with the tube that couldn't be kept clean and the popularity of soothing syrup. Jokes aside it came out adorable!

A basting stitch around the edge of the lace... 😃 ...then you gently draw the thread through to make a ruffled edge. That will allow you to fit the lace comfortably around the round pillow!! ❤ Your pillows are darljng...as well as the crib!!! So love watching you create!!! 😍

I'm a crafter myself and I am very impressed with the bed you've created from all those bits of discarded metal. Don't sell your creation short ladies! A dear old friend of mine who taught me sign painting would tell me as I agonized over every imperfection to " Set it up against the wall and step back 10 feet. All those little mistakes disappear." As the artist we see the imperfections because we have an image in our mind of how the piece should have turned out. As a viewer and an admirer I only see the wonder of this beautiful little rustic bed. "Step back", ladies and give yourselves some credit! Well done!

Ok, I was so confused with the term cot. In the US we call it a crib. I finally "got it" when Kate said nobody would put their baby in this! A cot here is used in camping to hold usually one person up off of the floor of a tent. This is such a cute addition to your dolls house. I love it! Wonky pillow and all.

I loved going through the thinking process, it made the craft very real. When you make something out of what you find, it becomes very difficult. I think it turned out well!

The "death trap" cot is so imaginative and looks so much better than when you started and showed the pieces you were going to use! I thought "Oh! NO! That will never come out right!" And I was so wrong!

As for soldering, you can get acid that will remove corrosion from the ends you dip in it... an alternative is to try araldite epoxy glue! Sets very solid 😁 Scaled up, it would be a death trap as Kate says, but in miniature, it's lovely 😂

But you always come through and the results are so charming. Your precious dollhouse out of found materials is worth more than any price you could pay for it.

I just love how you take scraps of metal and found objects that you have gathered up without knowing how you are going to use them, and then put together something that is amazing and just right for the doll house!

I just love that Sonny is so insistent on having a cameo in every video. I'm surprised you didnt have slats on the base of the cot, rather than the that 'new' looking piece if metal plating. Love your work, can't wait for the next instalment.

I watch you just draw with a pencil, cut it out and voilà! A mattress. Voilà! A cushion. I have to carefully make a little pattern, pin it. Cut it, remove the pattern, pin it, carefully backstitch it, then turn it out and MAYBE it would be okay. It’s both delightful and frustrating watching you both work.
