YEESSS. Kids in proper viking shoes look so awesome. I know it's extra work, but so worth it. My kids just pass their shoes down to the next kid when they get too small.
We also pass down the Shoes and other stuff but the little one seems to be out of sync so the passed down Shoes Are too big or too small at this point. But compared to sewing Shoes for adults a Kids shoe is Such a great little project
Aww, my friend that's beautiful to see your whole family working together on a project like that! You're a good man, and a good father. I know you'll treasure these experiences with them! Excellent work, it's always a treat to watch your videos. Mange tak!
That was a beautiful video! I took my my kids to reenactments! We start when they were 6 and 8! They are in university now! This video brought back some great memories! Thank you
thank you Ian. Its great to hear the video brought back memories. Im sure you had some really good times with your kids at reenactment back then. All the best my friend.
Great video again thanks for sharing Ramuni. So nice to see you do this with youre wife and kids what a great way to grow up like this instead only playing with a mobile or computer like the most kids nowadays. Youre channel is also growing with subscribers 😃 I am happy for you, you deserves it with youre beautiful work. 🙏
thank you my friend:) it sure is a great way for the family to be together. though i must admit that my kids also watch television and stuff in our everyday. But its great to have these pauses once in a while. Its important. And yes the channel is growing steadily. thank you for noticing. Im very proud of that. soon hopefully reaching 5k. Be safe:)
Thank you Charles:) most of the tools Are forged and im not good as a blacksmith (yet) but have plans for videos about the clamp from Haithabu and making a pump Drill. When i get better at the forge i will try to make chisels and stuff.
Great tutorial. I'm adding shoe making to my list of skills to learn 😀 Yesterday, our group returned from a five-day trip to Copenhagen. We visited Roskilde, Lejre and other places nearby. It is a beautiful country (so different from our homeland in the Czech Republic) and we hope to visit it again sometime.
That sounds Like an awesome trip. Im sure you found the great hall at lejre fantastic. Hope you get more chances to come and visit. Thanks for the support and best of luck with learning shoe making. The learning curve is not too steap and its very rewarding
Excellent job. I need to remake some turn shoes for my kids - they grew out of the last pairs I made. One trick I have found is to only stitch about 1-2cm (4-6 stitches) of the center seam on the upper, at the end where it attaches to the sole. Then attach the upper to the sole as normal. Having the center seam of the upper mostly open makes turning the shoe trivial - I don't even need to wet the shoes to turn them. I complete sewing the center seam after the shoe is turned.
thank you for this beautiful video and yes the season will be started in two weeks time , we wil visit the viking market in Ribe. Following from the netherlands the route of our n-w european, scandinavian ancestors
I like how your pack becomes an improvised work bench and dining table. Tell me if you are like me when making thing in pairs do you get that feeling on completing the first one the second seems much harder?
Yes the backpack is brilliant. I was worried the bark structure would be damage after some year of use but it is still holding up well. Did you watch the video of making it? Yes i feel excactly the same. The second one seems like climbing a mountain, and the first like swimning a lake:) i think the exitement of a New projects is sometimes stronger that the exitement of finnishing
They Are better than modern Shoes for smell cause there is No synthetoc compounds and Viking Shoes only smell like leather and the grease you use to waterproof them:)
