Im a recovered alcoholic for almost 9 years now and I do really miss having good cocktails but watching you two try and react to different flavors and blends in the drinks you make is thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you for allowing me to partake vicariously through you ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
I live in Poland, and I don't recall ever seeing bitters for sale in 15 years here. Perhaps I haven't looked in the right places. Your video encouraged me to seek them out and I have found them available from several bar & restaurant suppliers. Kudos for inspiring me to action.
I usually drink gin as a toddy, never thought to add Angostura. Just mixed one up now, the bitters adds a richness to the gin that compliments the herbaceous notes and balances the citrus and sugar very nicely! Thanks for the new variation!
The angostura double dip. Unfollowed, Blocked, Reported! JK, reminds me of last night when I forgot to retain the pasta water to finish my sauce. (I cheated and it worked out just fine.)
I only have 2 gins and 1 bitters, but I could probably *still* spend the whole evening making those if I liked them. Don't have any lemon (or sugar actually) at home at the moment though 🤔Think I might need to get some, cause this sounds tasty!
We had that same book in in the late fifties in our basement playroom bar. Of course being an Angostura promotional book every drink has their bitters in it some not so successful.
Saw the short and had to watch the full video! Great episode as always, thanks for sharing all these old recipes. Doing a good job preserving the history.
Was not a gin fan but you convinced me I needed to try more gins and it turned out it’s tonic I don’t like. Never would have tried if it wasn’t for your logical reasoning that sometimes you just have to try other gins. Off to a gin festival in a couple of days now. 😊
I've effectively made the un-bittered version of this before and just called it a "gin sour", which of course it is, but I like the name "Stubby Collins" so I'll probably start using that. Will definitely have to try the bittered version.
Try it with a little rose water or use rose simple syrup. Delightful! I added a drop of red food coloring and am calling it Rosey Gin-I-Made... Have 3 or 4 and see if you like it 😉 🤏🌹+🍋=🩷
I have never really been a Gin fan, however, I recently tried a craft Gin from a Distillery in Austin, TX called Still Austin...It completely changed my mind and how I view Gin...
