I've teamed up with my friend Martin Guerra to create a new and unique type of bullwhip handle! Martin has been forging knives from scratch for 40 years, and has been stabilizing exotic woods for nearly as long.
In this video we'll take a look at Martin's beautiful work, and delve into the exciting process of shaping Martin's hand-crafted turning blanks into handles for whips.

A classic wood turners trick is to grab a handful of the wood shavings to use for the final polish of the turning. I also think if you turn more resin handles a scraper might work better. Like drilling brass and some plastics, the scraping action reduces grabbing if you have that problem.

Wait till you see what guys have been doing with pool cues. I've been wanting to bring this into the whip world. But don't see anyone paying $1000-$2000 for just silver inlay whip handle. Could be wrong

My brother. Once again, another amazing video. There is one thing I'd like to see you do. I'd like to see an extractor attached to your lathe. It'll draw in medium to the very fine powder when you sand. Rockler has a really good one. James
