Sorry, been meaning to get this to you: www.amazon.com/dp/B00R1FWLYA/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_qqHKFbQZX5SD5?_x_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Pretty good deal if you need all those items.
I had 2 of those Craftsman GT 5000. One was like new (2004) the other I acquired for parts. I bought the good one in 2019, from a friend that bought it new. He used it for 4 or 5 years. Then parked it in his shop. I had 2 acres to cut, it did a great job. My wife and I retired, down sized on the home and yard. Sold the good mower, took the engine off the parts mower put it on a Murry 40 inch cut . It had a 12.5 Briggs it had some serious problems, the top compression ring broke in 3 places . Would need a new piston and rings so i put the Kohler 25 horsepower V twin on. Does a very good job. 😊 Both of mine had the 6 speed manual transmission. It was easy to change the oil on those, drain.plugs, and a fill plug. Good luck with yours, those are good machines, in my opinion.
Nice job Saturn! It's coming together well it seems. I did not know they put acceleration pumps on these small engines. Cars used to have them back in the day; they shot a little bit of gas into the carburetor when you hit the gas to keep the engine from falling on its face. I have to ask about the 147 Restoration; been waiting forever for an update on that. Keep going; it will all be worth it in the end!
Thanks Billy. Yep, just yesterday someone else brought up the 147 and the long drought. I just kind of stepped away from RU-vid for a long time and the project fell flat. This current project has help blow the cobwebs out and get things moving again. I'll be restarting the 147 rebuild pretty soon. Thank you for stopping in!
@@TheSaturnV Excellent! I'm glad you plan on picking up with the 147. I will be following along on both projects. Looking forward to your next video! Thanks for taking the time to make them; I know it must be time consuming, but it is great to see someone like me who tries to fix things, instead of throwing them away when they break. There ain't many of us out there, especially in my generation. Until the next one; take care!
Really nice tractor and will be sweet once it gets a little restoration. Looks like the Hydro Gear takes 20w-50 oil if you do wind up changing it out. Filter is internal. I understand they are ground engaging so it should be pretty strong.
I just got a Craftsman gt my is the hunter green one gas tank fillnis in the back transmission is on it serviceable love it she is my Cadillac for sure
You had me at Take it for a Burn! :-) Those blades are still blades in the Academic term... they are made of steel, longer then 10 inches. Thank you for coming back.
Boy Saturn I've had plenty of days where I can't hit the ground with my hat too, but you keep going! lol great job! I'm wondering if the no spark is a bad diode? There's diodes that run from the coil to the grounding lug on the shroud, my brothers snapper has the same issue. I'm excited for the next installments of this series!
Since I published this I got to the bottom of the spark / kill wire issues. It's running full twin now and shuts off properly. I honestly have no idea exactly how I fixed it, lol.
