Good looking Ratchet too bad they cheap out on a few things plastic selector switch and a backing plate made from a Black Label beer can LOL .. For a DIY person that would be a nice Ratchet to have for everyday use stick with the Pro Brands .. Great video Mr Ratchetman enjoy your weekend and pour yourself a nice glass of Black label Beer
You would think for a somewhat more premium ratchet they would keep it all metal,..nope😒👎. Hope you’re having a great weekend also. I prefer the German wheat beer myself 😉
Good video, thanks for sharing. I use a similar tool for the ball, but filed mine down to a thin profile to make it easier to get it all back in there. I have learned a lot from your channel!
Friend of mine had a 3/8 long handle, one of these ratchets back in the day. I loved that ratchet. I recently was going to grab one from eBay but for some reason the people trying to sell them on there think they are made of pure gold? Idk? The prices are easy to high, I just bought a brand new ratchet that was similar for half the price they want. Thanks for the video.
For straight vintage ratchets, the Snap-on and Cornwell or Mac are the best. In some cases where a fine tooth is not needed, they better than what's sold today.
They make a specific tool to hold down the spring and bball. Still available "craftsman ratchet repair tool" makes the job much easier. The 1/4 inch can be problematic to clean and repair.without.
I did Jerry rig a homemade tool a while back and it’s somewhere lol. I’ve taken apart this style so many time most times I can get by with a small screwdriver
From the era when Craftsman discovered value engineering, It's a shame as the handles were actually pretty comfortable to use. Those selector levers can and do break off.
