Often we hear that for an athlete to succeed, to reach the highest level of a sport, he must have more than talent.
He must have work ethic, determination, will.
In short, he must have heart.
No one will ever question Craig Cunningham 's heart.
In this SC Featured story, we see how Cunningham’s heart was tested, and how it responded, in creating his own miracle on ice.

I worked with Craig at a hockey camp when we were 16, he was playing on the vancouver giants at the time. I’ve lost contact with him, but he was a teammate/coworker you would want. Focused, goal-oriented, hardworking, empowering others around him to be better, a leader by showing not telling. He’s a really good person in real life too for anyone that’s watching this and just feeling inspired. It doesn’t matter the adversity, people like Craig are special in that they destroy their adversaries and are really good at being the best versions of themselves. You’re an inspiration Cunny, hats off to ya!

I am one of many Tucson Roadrunner fans who was praying for Craig from the moment I found out he collapsed. I praise God for the miracle He has worked through all of this.

What a fantastic story. I hope Craig decides to raise awareness of sudden Cardiac Arrest. Most people don't realize the difference between SCA and a Heart attack, or just how many young adults are affected. Unfortunately my son a hockey player also SCA had a very different outcome. My prayers go out to the Cunningham family, and for Craig's recovery.

Tucson was spelled correctly for the version that aired. This is an earlier version. Sorry for any confusion guys!

I knew about this shortly after it happened. I am friends with Scott Fleck, one of the Firefighters/Medics. When Scott emailed me about it, as I read every word, I cried and I would almost bet Scott also cried as he wrote to me. I was beyond proud of Scott and how he helped to save this young man. What the story doesn't tell is...Scott and his Brothers went to visit Craig at the hospital afterwords.

What did they say... 83 minutes of nonstop CPR?!?!? Granted, I realize that some of that CPR was performed in the hospital, but seriously, for a rescue squad to have performed CPR from the minute they arrived onscene to when they got to the hospital is *VERY* remarkable. The first responders have every right to be proud of the work they do!!!

The day that Craig survived the surgery was the day the new AHL team in Springfield Mass got their miracle player Matt Mackenzie. He is our Craig Cunningham. #CunnyDid Love you Craig

Kind of awesome that the teammate with him getting back on the ice was Connor Garland. This is an amazing story, lived by an amazing person. #CunnyDid

His heartbeat stoped for ... Wait a minute... 83 minutes? How is it possible for him being alive now? In other words he was dead for 83 minutes and now he is alive... Holy God.. Thanks God for that miracle.

The onscreen graphics were most likely (98% sure) done by ESPN (it just looks like an ESPN-type font), which is odd, since they usually don't screw up like that.

This is made with full lies. I Dr. Movahed was who performed all initial efforts to save his life and without me, khalphy would never be called. I called him after doing procedures, saving his life, including putting him on intra aortic balloon pumb initially, saving his life at the St Mary's hospital. Full of shame that ESPN completely bypass all hard work we done for at least 4 hours to save his life.

Dudes, you could have spelled TUCSON correct. Not Tucsan. This is a professional video.

scotchkit Actually it was Tuscan :D

And I don't think Dan Arruda misspelled it, TBH, unless he works at ESPN. It looks like an ESPN-type font.

They didn't claim it was ''Tucsan''. Good job embarrassing yourself.
