I often had same issue when I was younger and race 800/1500 that felt in shape in training but never felt preformed at max till went through period where for few weeks would just tick over the mileage and did speed work and then found raced out of skin - took my several seasons to realise I had to have 2/3 weeks of massively reduced training to perform in races
1500m: Maybe the toughest event to make The US Team with Naguse, Cole,Hobbs, & all but you never know what’s possible on race day and multiple rounds. Maybe they can pull a rabbit out of a hat.
Nice Nike pants, not super tight, but with enough room. What is that? ... I'm having trouble finding the perfect pants google says: Nike Dri-FIt Stride Short
@@baumsquad222 ive had before at physio when in lane one and inside leg is always the left inner hamstrings can get tight. As well as strengthening both legs
I think that the coach is trying to help the athletes become mentally flexible and not over think the workout before hand and just run it based on how they feel that day. Also when racing there can be some unknowns and surprises so being able to encounter that in a workout setting is good practice.
I think you might be a little confused. I can't speak for all pros, of course, and I can't speak for Jakob, but what I've heard is that yes, he does do the vast majority of his sessions at Threshold. However, you still have to do race-specific work so your body is somewhat used to running fast. I heard that in the early INDOOR season, Jakob doesn't do a lot of speed work and more or less uses racing as speed work, but 100% before a big race (like the OT in this video), he would be doing race-specific work. Additionally, pros as a whole do less double T than a lot of people think because of how hyped up it is.
@@aaroneskelson1799Jakob dad did an interview after a race Nordas did last year around June and said hasn’t started race specific work yet and they don’t do that till we’ll into the season - not sure if Jakob still does same but seems like theeashold majority of year and then last month or so of training before champs it’s race specific speed work - but again what works for one athlete doesn’t for others and a lot of top runners won’t do threshold anywhere near as much as Jakob
Considering he could not even make it to NCAA Outdoor Nationals, making the Oly Team would probably take a miracle. I’m sure the experience is what he is in it for.
