When I met Craig sans-mask in 2001, he spoke....I asked to sign my CD. He said, "Sure, man".

I always thought the nails in the “devil in i” video looked the way they did because they were rubber, to protect the dog that jumps on him. So instead of getting impaled by real nails, they would just be rubber, or something soft, so the dog didn’t... you know... die.

Craig's spike helmet has always been my favorite. I don't know why. I think it has just the right amount of terror and humor. I like how he never talks also. It fits the character to me

I remember when I went to Disneyland Paris when I was a young girl, we got outside of the park to go to our hotel and there were all these paintings you could buy. One of them was a painting of a group of “things” and the name Slipknot. Out of all the masks Craig’s is the one that stood out to me, like wtf is that? So Craig’s mask will always hold a special place in my heart

Call me crazy but I thought the nails in the "Devil in I" version were fake. you can see them bending in the video while his head is rubbing against the elevator wall, but I'm sure that was a bit of protection for the dog in the scene.

I love Craig's masks, but I feel like if they stuck with a more iowa-style sculpt the newer versions would look even better.

Craig's We are not your kind mask is definitely an improvement from vol3 up to .5 it doesn't get a whole lot of credit but I like that he did something different then just put huge nails everywhere at least he made it something unique that we haven't seen before.

The new round shape from AHIG onward always bugged me too but I also noticed the spikes seemed to be more stiff they didn't flop around like vol 3. I always thought maybe there was something solid holding the spikes inside the mask which is why the bigger rounder shape came in. I dunno just a thought.

Holy shit....that promo shot does look exactly like if you made a Craig cake! Frickin rolling. My favorite is later/weathered self-titled for sure. And not that y'all give a Schmidt, but one that I went through a love/hate with was the .5. At first I hated that he used different length nails, it seemed like a break in tradition and I felt betrayed, hah. But soon after, I started to dig it. I always considered it the sunburst Craig...or the explosion Craig.

Even tho I’ve never listened to any slipknot music I love learning about the masks and how they change, most of all I love the way aj explains it.

I do like the late self titled mask but my personal favorite is the late Iowa mask. The tightness and the decay of the mask and the rusted nails with rust on the actual mask is so creepy but awesome at the same time. And the jumpsuits they wore just added to the overall effect of being creepy but awesome. Loved the video like always. I hate AJ Good

I’m glad you did this now, cuz I was very curious about his masks. N honestly I like the Iowa makes with the black mask and nails in and stuff, his older ones in self title though are good, all around I love all his masks, definitely is different in many ways

I think his mask represent pain and torture, I’m not sure They all have different meanings

so as you can probably tell AJ I am binge-watching to catch up with all the different masks variance that you've been running and you were absolutely right I remember the wolf mask and the panty hose and I even remember the gas mask but I did not have any clue how many variants he did with the Sinclair mask so thank you for that

Back in the mid to late 90s (if I remember correctly) there was a weird artsy car commercial that had strange music and and took place in the desert. For a few seconds someone in a black bondage mask with nails was in frame. This was before IOWA. My family recorded a lot of TV on VHS. sometime after IOWA came out I went back to watch one of those tapes I came across this commercial and it blew my mind. In the age of the Internet everything is online but DAMN it is super hard to find a very specific car commercial from 25 years ago if you can’t remember the name of the car. I’m still gonna try and find it.
