My husband and I lost our daughter in 2010 just 2 weeks after she turned 21and it liked to have killed us. But I had to be strong for my husband and our 3 other children and thats a feeling that will never go away she had already had 2 open heart surgery's and she was getting sick again and I begged her to go back to the doctor and she said momma I am 21 and I have been cut on twice she looked at me and said and I won't let them cut on me again and 2 days later she died and I prayed I would never have to go through that ever again but that wasn't in our cards we found our son in the shed on thanksgiving day 2022 just 5 months ago he had hung himself and it's a hurt like no other and sometimes it's really hard to even get out of bed you just want that pain to stop but it never does we are not supposed to bury our children and I just want to thank you for that song and I understand how hard it has to be to sing I just want to say thank you and God bless you
Today is my Sons 31st birthday , he passed away this past Easter. This song helped me realize that I'm not alone , I've joined a club or group I never thought about till I was a member. My prayers are now for those new members and the old members. God will see us through this.....time will show that. My son died in a freak accident November 6, 2021, a week before his 25 birthday. We celebrated his life and death that day. People say you heal in time, kinda like saying the song gives you healing therapy. I don’t believe you ever heal from losing a child before your own time. I screamed for Jesus to raise him like he did Lazarus, and in the next breathe said “Jesus, I trust in you”. I believe in the hope that we are offered through Jesus Christ that one day we will be together again. Truly grateful for the supernatural strength that I have received to endure this cross to Sainthood and the gift of faith, the Eucharist, forgiveness, hope and love. You see my father does a country music program for a community radio here in Australia, he is more George Strait where I’m more Blake Shelton, anyway he always asks what songs I like so he can play on radio to his audience. I would dearly love him to play this song, but I’m afraid it would be too upsetting for him. This July marks 10 years since my parents lost their son, my brother and only sibling. I guess if you can get on stage at the Grand Ole Oprey and perform this amazing song with strength, I may have the strength to play your song for my parents, and my Dad to play it on radio for his listeners. Deb, firstly I want to say that I'm sorry for your loss. I think you should play it for your parents. I don't know if you've looked into the interviews done by Craig on this song but he talks about writing it in one shot in 4 hours after waking from a dream with the Chorus already in his head. He planned to perform it once and only once at the Grand Ole Opry as a tribute to his son. After the performance he's going backstage and another artist and friend of his tells him it was an amazing performance and he loved the song. Craig told him he was glad he was there to see it because he is never going to sing it again and his friend told him that he HAD to sing it again, that people out there needed to hear it and it was up to him to share it with them. So Craig kept on signing it and now I'm telling you that your parents probably need to hear it too and i'll wager everything that your dad has listeners of his program that need to hear it. I hope you find the strength to share it with them.
I love when you do this song. See I lost my son at 21 due to a drunk driver. He live on life support for 7 day's. I prayed so hard for him to come back to me and the next day he did. Lived 13 day's but died on Thanksgiving morning . But he got saved 3 day's before he died. He had a brain aneurysm and passed in his sleep. I know he's in a better place but I miss him so much. I heard this song 10 months ago when I came home after burying my only child ,his name is Jonathan .I was so angry ,questioning God ,how could you do this my son was so kindhearted and giving , always looking out for people people he didn't even know we need more people in this world like my son ,so how could you let a drunk driver hit him and take his life,well anyway as I said I ve home turned on the radio. and this is the song that plays.I listen to it every day now ,it has helped me so much ,to realize that God didn't do it ,the drunk man did it ,but God took him home cause he needed him more than I did

So now every year when those dates come around I will also be praying for your family to get through those days feeling the Lords comfort. Special occasions such as holidays and then the day of their passing can be very difficult. But someone once told me that the reason it’s that way is because we loved them so much! Otherwise it wouldn’t be so painful! Love and prayers to you and your family.
