How does one get inflation in line when Local Councils and Insurance Companies are driving inflationary increases?

Inflation is caused by printing money. Your money is worth less than it used to be thanks to the last Labour govt and the reserve bank allowing them to inflate the money supply. Prices don't go up, your spending power goes down. The reserve bank is now stalling the economy to rein in the inflation they created. All that money we borrowed / printed is now going to the banks in the form of interest rates. The great reset. Who does the reserve bank work for again? Adrian Orr should be in jail.

House prices are so overly bloated that it's essentially screwed the economy because people can't afford a basic 2 bedroom flat, and the prices of everything has risen because of real estate. It's interconnected. Short term greed is the lesson here. Self inflicted gunshot to the foot. Congrats, NZ. You've done it to yourselves.

What's good for the landlord is eventually good for the renter, but we do have to recover from Labour. What's good for the reserve bank will eventually be good for NZ, but we do have to recover from Labour. Sure Labour spent a fortune on Covid (- and as I remember it - the electorate was more than happy for them to do so) - and then arguably got caught out by global inflation ( - thanks to the war in Ukraine). ... Robertson was singled out for special mention for his exemplary management of our economy during Covid. ... I think we're in a global recession (- every other country in the West is also in a cost of living crisis) ... but that's been misrepresented to us ny the National Party in order to turn the electorate against the Labour govt. ... They've been remarkably [- if not completely] successful in that! Having said that. - I would imagine that if you're in business - like so many are in NZ - you don't particularly care about the facts. ... You just need a break - or needed a break - and that looked like National. - Unfortunately, though - they're screwing up everything they touch!... ... Labour were unlucky - that's all. ...They had to fund Covid (- hugely expensive) and then got hit with global inflation (- courtesy of U.S and E.U. sanctions on Russia). ... Most kiwis continue to believe that the cause of this recession is mismanagement by the Labour Party - primarily because the National Party (- Christopher Luxon and Nicola Willis) told them to believe that.

When a market place has housing as its biggest "industry" and a huge marketing machine around it, driven only by earnings it will fail. It is the real estate job to push prices up as much as they can because they earn more, simple as. Everybody has been happy to talk portfolios, capital gains, return on investment all the time while real estates get ritcher and ritcher. Glory days over I'm afraid. When a very large real agent in Hamilton has a "Million Dollar" club where the person grossing the most commission over one million dollars is sale person of the year, thats how much interest they have in pushing housing up. Porsches are not free......

NZ whole economy is sitting on top of the housing industry. It's a bubble. The value of your house increases but where is that extra $ going to come from? It has to come from somewhere? Loan, extra $ for what value? We are buying up houses on loans on fake valuation. 2 bedroom houses for 1 mil plus? Something is not right there.

The social and primary standard of living moderator in ANZ was the Trade Union movement, enshrined in law up to the ECA and ERA. Legislative strategies from consecutive anti worker governments have marginalised unions via their corporatisation as self serving businesses and constant propaganda of anti unionism, a lot was of their own making too. The economy is very wealthy in ANZ where the workers produce for an export sales market of 90 million people and the wealth and excessive profits are stripped towards the employers and many overseas owners at the ecspense of the workers standard of living low wages here. Hence the workers have little choice but to export themselves, mainly to Aistralia, to maintain their standard of living. This has been occuring since the early 1980s and the development of anti worker union organisations, whilst the government encourage wealthy people to ANZ along with cheap ununionised labourers, many from 3rd world countries, so much for patriotic bs the governments all spout. Bring back compulsory unionism.
