The song shift at 3:21 has been one of my absolute favorites ever since I first heard it. It's the musical equivalent of walking out of a smoke filled room and taking a deep breath of clean, fresh air; of emerging from shadows into a brightly lit glade; of finally coming to the realization that you have the power and opportunity to make a positive change in your life. This song is deeply moving to me, and I love it still, after all these years.
That's exactly more or less what this song is about she wrote this back in the early 90s it's about a relationship she was in that was physiologicaly controling walking up the road form her mom's she just decided she was leaving this guy and that was it and off course it wad spring time and all the daffodils were out on the side of the road so this song was inspired by this
This is one of the best songs ever recorded, by any band. Clearly they were touching a whole different plane of existence when they recorded this track! WTF!!!?? Excellent!!
You have decided to leave us forever... You have deciced to end things from here... Thunder and lightning won't change how you're feeling... And the daffodils looked lovely today... R.I.P. Angelvoice....
I travelled to Limerick through bleak Irish weather yesterday. In the church of St Joseph, the coffin was open and Dolores looked as stunningly beautiful as ever , Tomorrow she will be laid to rest in the peaceful graveyard at Caherelly , 20km from Limerick (2.5 hours from Dublin airport) . Great sadness and bewilderment .....but the daffodils still look lovely today
Its 2012 and I dont care! I'll be listening to it till I die! : D I will let my children listen to Cranberries, because I want them to grow up with great and amazing sound.!!!
This song is VERY special in its two parts. The first is very melancholic, and then there is a pause of sorts, followed by the guitars kicking in at 3:21 and it's really happy and up. It's amazing and you just don't see that kind of thing often.
When it comes to the Cranberries and their most successful album "No Need To Argue" most people think immediately of "Zombie". In my eyes there are without a doubt better songs on this great album than the most popular one. "Daffodil Lament" here is one of them - a timeless touching song and the first I put on when I heard of Dolores' sad farewell. All the best to you in the next world!
Hypnotic, transporting. Go bless you Dolores I've loved you and the band since u began. Your music will be real yesterday, today and the very many tomorrows
This song reminds me of a friend who passed away a few days ago. She was a very friendly, happy-go-lucky person who seemed to love life & didn't deserve to leave the world at age 29. R.I.P. Kelly Ann McDonough!
This is awesome! This song means so much to me personally. When one finally goes "numb" and does decide to leave the other, this song expresses exactly what you feel. The decay of a relationship and the renewal of life after a decision is made.
The outro to this song makes this song UNREAL! ♫ I have decided to leave you forever, I have decided to start things from here. Thunder & lightning won't change what I'm feeling & the daffodils look lovely today. In your eyes I can see the disguise, in your eyes I can see the dismay. Has anyone seen lightning? Has anyone looked lovely? And the daffodils look lovely... today, look lovely today...♫
+DanMice1 They were very popular worldwide till early 2000's. But times changed, music's changed, and those who didnt died, or killed themselves, werent immortalized.
This song was on the 1st album(no need to argue) I ever bought, at the tender age of 16 and im damn sure it has influenced a hell of a lot of my life! Like now for instants, this sing needed to be played over one more time :) A truly amazing song from a truly amazing album!!!
One of the most distinguishable and beautiful voices ever!! And many of their song had meaning. Goodbye Dolores. We will miss you. ...until....."our enemy death is no more" 1Corinthians 15:26, Revelation 21:3,4. The world with NO WAR anywhere!!
It's kinda surprising to find out there are people like me. I started listening to them when I was 9 because my big cousin bro is a fan of them. Now I'm 22 and still love 'em all the way... HIGH FIVE!!
@JCasachick My parents played the Cranberries when I was a baby. I know every song now, basically by heart. The Cranberries have always been one of my favorite bands. Now I'm sixteen and they still are. :) Go people who have been listening to the Cranberries since they were so little and still are. :D
Will you get saved by the Lord Jesus Christ? Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

+yaelandrea That's a great point. There's no reason to restrict abusive relationships to heteronormative ones. LGBT relationships can also be abusive. Thanks for the reminder!
This song is a an amazing journey. Close your eyes and find then your breathing heavier your heart breaks. But you fall in love with her again more right this minute cuz i did. 🍀🍀🍀❤❤❤
Autumn2020, Melancholia mesmerizes my heart ... listening to this song in an "everlasting loop" in bed ... melting it up , like intro's becoming outro's and outro's becoming intro's ... the daffodils look lovely today ...
