Cranes At Dawn 

Sandhill cranes before sunrise as the birds are waking up from their overnight roost and starting to fly off to nearby cornfields to spend the day feeding. They will return at sunset to spend the night in the shallow ponds where they feel safe from predators. The Bernardo Wildlife Management Area is one of the places in New Mexico where the cranes spend the winter.
