Plenty of Cybertrucks and a handful of Model Ys are shipped out today. A hive of activity is going on at the south extension. The east side charging area is still being used.

Thanks Brad. 2:05. Southend, east. Tank Farm. Level 2 internal wall under construction. Southend, Cooling Tower. Apron. 1 large pipe cranked down into the excavation. 2:11. Southend, Cooling Tower. Re-excavated the excavation under the tower. 2:23. River Road, east extension. Gravel spread almost the length of the new road. 2:35. Southend, east. Apron. Bottom left. Smaller black pipes, with flanged fittings. 4:28. River Road, south. Square concrete pad in between where a section of stormwater drain has been removed. 11:51. Battery, diagonal corner. Highway berm. Orange fibre duct lengths laid out. 12:23. Casting, diagonal corner. Apron. Rebar placed, and concrete being placed for pavement repair over the new electrical ducts. 12:58. Casting, east. Baghouse Project. 2 hopper units installed. 13:13. BIW, roof. Electrical cables ‘exiting’ the ducts and turning south. 13:20. BIW, apron. Trenching for fire hydrant relocation. 15:52. Batch Plant. Texas Concrete logo on the trucks. Batch plant now owned by Texas Concrete (Texas Materials). Information from @forwardthinkingtrucker, longtime occasional youtube commenter. Trucks at the temporary batch plant at 14:12 are marked MM, presumably that plant still operated by Martin Marietta. 15:55. Cathode, west. Tank Farm. 4th vaporizer returned. As noted by Bob Callahan. Plant platform. 2 large generator trailers, and what might be mobile chillers. Pump looking items on the trailers.

re 15:55 the mobile chillers are not yet connected to the cooling water system. Some yellow painted flanges are visible, possibly for future temporary connections. The reason for these temporary chillers? I don't think it is for maintenance/repairs; with at least 2 chillers already in place it would be relatively easy to just lift such a packaged unit out and replace it with a spare unit. A day's work. Maybe extra chilling is necessary for testing a new type of manufacturing process, ahead of a future expansion of the entire platform towards the N. Cathode remains shrouded in mystery! Luckily we can see more details around the CT, see my standalone comment. I'm still a bit unsure about how that is supposed to work: two pumping pits, two brown pipes being lined up to these low points (self-priming pumps)... Is the entire CW supply system being duplicated for reliability purposes? Then we have to await the appearance of separate CW return lines...

@@hardernl8893 15:55. Thanks for confirming that these are chillers. I wasn't sure. Cartons of computer floor in Joe's Wednesday video, lots of the white heavy duty steel frames (reminiscent of the suspended) frames from 18 months ago. Is there a link? Cooling Tower. Quite different to what I had imagined!

2:11 Guessing they ran into a problem and needed to add more sheet pile to stabilize the column footings.

@@DavidJohnson-tv2nn 2:11. I think it the same piling as seen in Brad's 25 June video.

@DessieDoolan Dessie, off topic here, but have you seen the steel delivery in Nevada?

Going to be a wet week. We had a set of heavy thunderstorms come through this afternoon (Saturday 6July) and even though it looks like the hurricane is going in farther East than hoped, we should get more significant rain on Monday and Tuesday. Nothing like the 4 to 6, maybe even 8, we were hoping for but at least 2 or 3 inches.

The configuration of the brown cooling water pipes, on their way to a lowest point in a pit underneath the CT, points to the application of so-called Concrete Volute Pumps, a vertical dry pit pump. This type of pump can handle enormous flows and a single stage pump can do say 50m of water column height which looks OK here. More info can be googled for those interested. I must say all the signs were already there for the future installation of vertical pumps; for horizontal pumps rather large concrete slabs would be necessary to place the base plates of the pump assemblies. We may still see various other pumps for auxiliary services and dosing of algaecides etc.

So I was right about the deep excavation @ 2:11 being for pumps? Notice all the sheet pile and bracing needed to stabilize the column footings.

@@DavidJohnson-tv2nn It looks like it, David! For me it is a new thing, this type of pumps in a deep pit, and I only found it after googling. Hopefully we will be able to spot the pump manufacturer' logo on a crate or, even better, on top of the CT such that we can follow up. Now that I think about it, maybe this is the only practical way because if the entire CW circuit is filled with water then the pump can be started gently against a permanent discharge pressure (the maximum water column to the highest point) and with a permanent Net Positive Suction Head (the water column from the CT basins down to the pit). Then the vertical pump shaft between the electro motor on top and the pump vanes turning in the horizontal plane down below is always in balance. Compare that with the centrifuge of a washing machine .. that needs to move quickly through a critical speed point otherwise it goes ballistic - sort of

Thanks Brad! Cooling: @ 2:05 5' diameter pipes being extended towards the cooling tower. @ 2:11 a close up view. South of River road: @ 4:27 Ongoing work on the stormwater pipes going to the river outfall structure. Fiber optics: @ 11:49 (Towards the bottom) Orange conduits laid out on the ground. New power supply to the building: @ 12:21 (Left) Another section of duct-banks completed. Though they still have to cross the road. @ 15:12 They still have to construct the small section between the vaults. This is where the new duct-banks cross over the existing main power duct-banks to the factory. @ 15:24 The last section of duct banks that need to be completed. Rooftop cable trays: @ 13:12 (Bottom right) Not new but worth mentioning... The point where some cables leave the main cable tray run and go through cable ducts in the roof at the north end of BIW. Also the point where the existing main power duct-banks enter the building.

With the parking garage, boring tunnel, southend and the cooling towers almost all ready there is less and less progress to see. Still expect some more chargers and paving on the east side as the tunnel will become in use.
@ReinReads
@ReinReads 8 дней назад
Until the next projects start. Still a lot of roads to be installed. Especially on the east & north east. Doubt they are doing all that if more buildings weren’t being planned. Plus the build out of the public trail system & nature preserve with boring tunnel access to the lake will be interesting to see. They won’t be done here for a few more years.

@PM_82 8 дней назад
@@ReinReads True, did not claim there wont be anything to see in the future, just that the current projects are comming to an end. There is still the river side road that will be extended to the north above the cathode factory. Some projects are likely on hold untill the cybertruck factory is starting to scale up and create more cashflow.

@@jbbuzzable Yeah, tesla should show more of that, specially for shareholders who are not able to visit the factory that easely like us europeans. Would love to see a tour of the cathode factory for instance.

progress is a relative thing.. Speaking for myself, I think I made a lot of progress in understanding new things and technologies thanks to the generous comments from various expert commenters. Much appreciated! I hope that we can continue to move on beyond the obvious that has been regurgitated so many times already. So yes, there is diminishing returns in learning but still worthwhile! For example, I never gave the existence of datacenters a second thought, but now all of a sudden it becomes an interesting topic.
