Join Charlie Aldridge, Alan Hatherly & Simon Andreassen around a lap of the brand NEW World Cup Course in Crans Montana, Switzerland. This course will be used for the 2025 UCI MTB XCO World Championships.
That rocky section with tall rocks separating the two lanes after the dropoff looks dangerous. Hope it doesn't cost someone their ride at the olympics. I wonder how some parts can even be ridden if it rains. we'll see...
What a great course! Several of the gnarly features are getting most of the airtime, but there are some absolutely brutal off-camber dirt/grass/root climbs in there. Nasty, but in a very good way, indeed.
Perspective changes everything. Saw some insta posts that make those obstacles look pretty daunting and here they look mich more reasonable....in the dry. A wet course though and at the limit there will hopefully not be any very bad crashes 😕
Go on, Charlie. I didn't see any climbs (although I know that wasn't the whole course). Have they stopped including anything that remotely requires cardiovascular fitness in XC these days and just replaced it with obstacles and gimmicks?
